I must have seen at least some of the Melvins then....

Gotta stop getting so ****ed up at gigs. I went to the BDO at Adelaide Uni in '93 and every festival I have been to since just sort of gels into one...

I saw The Melvins and Helmet in Sydney a while back.

**** me that was loud.
Saw the same here, it was loud.

A million bands are a million times the band acdc are... Especially maiden...and anthrax... And ween....
Don't agree with them being wound up though. If they enjoy playing and people still want to see them live who cares, play on, if it's about the money, all bands are..some are just better at it...
They should have got Taylor swift...
I guess the advantage is that all ACDC fans are congregating in one spot regularly so we have ample chances to drop an A-bomb on them.

PREDAT0R you might enjoy this ex Maths and French teacher explaining quantum computing ie Canadian PM Justine Trudeau.

He's cool and did a good job but I think it's a sign of how little understanding of basic science there is in the media and with politicians. He should be expected to be across his brief, they all should have been. It's disappointing that this was a surprise. It's disappointing that the "scientific" debate on major issues is so easily hijacked by vested interests. It's disappointing that this debate is not more often held to account and guided by knowledgeable leaders.

So the nuclear football is going to be in the hands of Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton who'd have picked that 20 years ago when I was in Year 16

Politics in the western world is full of lawyers so whilst you can go on about they should be across their brief, lawyers arent interested in science and neither are unionists and people whose only work experience is working for political parties and politicans. Those 3 groups make up 75-85% of people in Australian parliaments.

Barry Jones was the only lawyer I ever saw or heard who had a true grasp of maths, science, engineering and technology. The rest just talk the cliches.

As for the media, bugger all have done maths and science past year 10.

Nope, its a long way from over.

Sorry to talk about politics everyone but the Republican Convention could be, well, anything: funny, farcical, nasty, dangerous, anything.

Hillary Clinton would probably be the most hawkish candidate in the Presidential race. A genuinely frightening woman.

lol, when I used to work at dick smith I used to swear people off Dodo, I never sold a single Dodo dongle because I would be doing them a favour by absolutely shit canning their service. Those who bought it get what they deserve.

She is a kind hearted and understanding woman. Just ask anyone who is not close to her.

Yeah, she's the scary one... o_O

All four of the remaining candidates have their potentially scary aspects. I don't doubt what you say, I guess in my view Clinton represents the status quo more than the others, something that in this particular case might be a good thing. I'd love for a socialist to get up just for the lols if nothing else, but then you'd have four years of nothing getting passed at all. And when the Republican leaders say no Trump at the Convention, well what next, a mad fundamentalist? Trump himself is saying that he doesn't want to talk about violence!!!!! China might have it figured out correctly (not really)!

Trump keeps getting pluralities but not majorities. He wont get the delegates to win before the convention so then all bets are off in Cleveland. The Republican Party establishment wont be ignoring the following, if they want to win in November. This is the year that mad crazy unexpected things are happening so why not continue.

The following article talks about Kasich staying in to get the Vice Presidency nomination from Trump, but Kasich has said he wont accept it. I am of the belief that Kasich will put Rubio on his ticket and collect his delegates and put real pressure on the Republican establishment to back in that ticket at the convention. With Rubio they could pick up the Hispanics in November, that Trump has pissed off so far.

And this is another reason why Kasich wont pull out as per the above mentioned article

There's a counterargument, though, that Kasich can actually hurt Trump by depriving him of some delegates in a region where Cruz is weak — the Northeast. Even though Kasich appears unlikely to win any more Northeastern states, he could win certain congressional districts. His presence could also make a difference in contests that have "winner-take-all triggers" — awarding all delegates in a state or district only to a candidate who tops 50 percent of the vote — by holding Trump under that 50 percent threshold.

What happened today in the 12th Congressional district of New York ie the part of Manhattan where Trump lives?? Kasich beats Trump.

https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20...ow-ues-murray-hill-e-village-voted-ny-primary
Campaigning is over, and residents of the 12th Congressional District have chosen Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. But John Kasich was leading Donald Trump by 70 votes with 100 percent of precincts reporting. The vote tally is unofficial. Trump's home in Trump Tower falls within the 12th Congressional District.

What happened?

Well, I have been pissed off at the contempt shown by Telstra, and wanting to cut monthly debit costs to make roon for Foxtel, I decided to assess options away from Telstra. Googling the best broadband ADSL 2+ bundles for my area, and Dodo were the cheapest, so I enquired by leaving my phone and email details. Monday I get a call from the Philippines, a lady starts the sales pitch and I tell her I want the ADSL 2+ unlimited internet plus unlimited local, STD and mobile phone bundle, for 59.90 or whatever. A big drop from the 129.99 Telstra bundle I was currently on. Checks for compatibility. Ok. Then all of a sudden it was, "Oh...you live in country?" "Yes, so?" "That be 10 dollar more, sir" After a few 'pleasant' exchanges...she got her supervisor. I told him that if I'm going to pay 10 dollars extra for the internet, I want to know what I get for that. Maybe paying for carrier pigeons? He told me it was the same as Optus and Telstra charge. I told him "No, Telstra do not. It is the same bundle price city, or country." Anyways, I accepted reluctantly that I had to pay regional fees. I told him I wanted it done next Friday, as I could make sure my credit card had the required funds as I had purchased a few items recently. Ok, next Friday. Everything was agreed. A while later, I got an email with the details of everything. Standard ADSL 1.5MB download, 256KB upload. WTF? Straight back on to the phone, Got to another sales lady and told her that I asked for ADSL2+, not dial-up speed plain ADSL, so she said "I understand sir, I'm sorry sir, I'll make sure you have ADSL 2+ when it is activated next Friday" Thankyou. That was Monday night. This morning I get up, turn on my PC while I make my coffee...then notice a red light where my Telstra modem's internet green light is supposed to be. But the landline phone is still working. No, it can't be....straight on to Dodo. Account verification out of the way..."Did you lot activate my internet account this morning?" "Yes sir, and I am pleased to inform you of your welcoming offe..." "WTF? Today is not next Friday...tell me is it ADSL2+?" "No sir, it is standard ADSL 1.5" "Holy ****" Another supervisor. After another 'pleasant' exchange to which I am informed that he is the head of accounts and didn't get that far by being stupid, and that I had a binding contact etc. etc. I asked him if all the phone exchanges I had had were in fact recorded like I had been informed. He told me they were, so I said said go back and listen to them where I asked for ADSL2+ and was told...yes I could have that. That was my binding contract. Anyway, to cut to the chase I have to pay an extra 10 bucks a month to get ADSL2+ because yes 'I live in the country' and now I have to put up with dial up speeds for the next 5 working days. From 59.90 to 89.90 because I 'live in the country'
