Probably no worse than any other year if you break it all down. Just guessing though. My theory is that new age hipsterism, and the baby boomer desire to keep all their favourite childhood/teen pop stars in the limelight and touring has meant we've just noticed them more because these performers have never been given the chance to slip away out of the public eye and into relative anonymity. I could be wrong but I'd be surprised if 2016 has had a marked rise in celebrity deaths than any other year.

Prince is a huge gap in my musical knowledge. I am well aware of him, as a pop icon, of course; but I don't think I ever listened to a full album of his. It might be a good time to do so.
On a completely unrelated note, I've now officially applied for a job in Terra Australis. Let's see how that works out.

I blame google chrome spell checker, who forces me to type in the English spoken by those damn Yankees.That indeed is an honour(PS: we spell 'honour' with a 'u' in it. You'll get used to all our weird spellings, once you move here)

I think it's the same as in the UK, right? Which is not really surprising considering half of Australia is named after the Royal family or British people in generalThe 'u'. Always with the 'u' I just ignore those red lines
I've been corrected about my spelling of the word 'favourite' in a LFC forum in the past, but I keep forgetting which is which.I posted this a few years back in response to the question "Ricciuto?";
Yes, we speak and write "British English", aka "English English"I think it's the same as in the UK, right? Interestingly though, the Australian Labor Party is officially spelt in American English.![]()
and it's a zebra not a zeebraSo do I, and I live here. American culture through television shows etc. has corrupted our understanding of English. Just don't say 'aloominum' when you get here, and you should be alright![]()

It has been 10 cents for some time.I think you get 5 cents for empty aluminium cans in SA, so it might be useful
Good lord!
Also keeps bin-scabs out of business.I actually have a big bin discretely tucked away that i chuck all my tins, cartons and so on that are 10 cents. I take it down to the scouts centre maybe once a year and pocket like 120 bucks. Good for the environment and good for my back pocket, who gives a ****.
I then use that 120 to go and buy more canned drink, lel.
