The seasons they've deviated most from the books have been the shittiest. Last season was the worst for that (Stannis!). This year with just the outline from GRRM I expect they'll screw it up even more.

i've lost interest a bit now. i mean even the last 2 books weren't up to the same standard as the earlier ones.

the best we can hope for is a satisfying finale.

there aren't really many interesting characters left in the series.
