I see Peter Garrett is recording a solo album and probably will play live gigs promoting that and The Oils are set to tour in 2017 for concerts around Oz.

I'm not sure I will be able to buy Garrett being political between songs and going on some rant about what's with the country and world. It will be hard not to be cynical and think - well you had your chance, you sold out, you toed the party line and were too scared to rock the boat, so you could keep your high profile ministerial job.

Never mind between songs, what about during songs?

The songs are ingrained so I would/will sing along, plus Rob Hirst , Jim Moginie, Bones Hillman etc never sold out so the songs still mean something. But I dont think I can handle the rants.

God i wish there was a current AFL game for modern console, games like tonight i would love to play a career mode instead :(
I wouldn't even mind playing the career in AFL Live 2 right now, but the CPU player never misses a set shot from anywhere within 60m.
So many games end with the computer team not having registered even one behind.
Frustrating.

Maybe they should just play Wedding Cake Island

afl live 1 was actually decent but it only had 1 season mode which is just insane

Yeah, that's what shits me.
AFL Live 1 had superior gameplay imo, but it was lacking key features.
They finally add those features to the second game, but completely **** up the gameplay in the process.

I was hopeful for the series future when AFL Live came out in 2011, but all that hope died when AFL Live 2 came out.

exactly, combine the best bits of both games and you have a great sport game but afl live 2 was clearly rushed and done with average budget and programmers

Amazing how liberating it is to leave the phone on the kitchen table & go out for a few hours occasionally even lel
Doing this a bit lately, finding it great.
Read something the other day saying the phrase "where are you?" when asked during a call is a relatively new thing. We used to know where someone was if they were on the phone.

Get Zack Dela Rocka to step in.

Martin Rotsey is the guy you forgot.

Bride works with his sister who is a corporate sell out.

No, it's not compulsory, and lots of people who are in there teens and 20s in 2016 will never own a house and will pay dead rent money for the rest of their lives to increase the wealth of someone who bought their first house 30 years ago when it was much, much easier to do so and were able to leverage that massively advantaged position to buy further properties and drive up property prices.

It further entrenches the class divide and it further entrenches poverty, which is exactly why housing affordability is such an issue. Having a housing affordability problem widens the gap between rich and poor, because you have to live somewhere, which means you have to either be able to afford a place, or pay rent to someone who could.

"You don't have to buy a house" is as dumb a thing to say as "Just get your parents to front your the deposit".

Check the table on single househole income. I didn't say household income, I said average salary.

Its not dumb at all..."ÿou don't have to buy a house"

If you weigh up what you end up paying in mortgage repayments vs rent over a 25year loan period, you might find that your better off renting a home because it would financially cheaper in the long run.

As an example, regardless of the income, over 25 years you could save 400K.

happy for someone to correct me...

That phrase is a trigger for me. "Oh, f@%koff," is usually my snap reply.

But I always have my mobile on silent. So I miss most calls. Even then I only take 'em from a few people. Seems to piss off some. "Why won't you answer your phone?"

Coz I don't wanna f@%king talk to you...

I've stayed on the sidelines with this debate so far but can't help myself here.

You wouldn't save 400K because you would own an asset that after 25 years would be worth more than the 450K you paid for it. By renting, you would have nothing to show for your 320K after 25 years.

In fact, your house would only need to increase in value by ~100K in those 25 years to break even with your renting example once you factor in the value of the asset. As house prices generally follow CPI over the long term (money loses value over time thanks to inflation), this is likely to occur.

And that's not even getting into paying off your mortgage quicker to lower the interest paid or dealing with landlords and inspections every 3 months.

These campaigners can be shut down in one day......literally, IF everyone in the world returned the money they borrowed to bank on the same day..... the world bank would crumble and we are then let loose from their chains... what does that mean, you wouldn't have to go to work!

And that is why they call rent "dead money".

I'd say for a decent place you'd be looking at $350+ per week (which would be $455k over that time period) and rental prices will likely continue to rise over the course of that loan. I'd also say that there wouldn't be too many people these days who actually complete a 25 year loan in 25 years, saving the interest repayments significantly over that time. I think your interest repayments is a bit out on that calculation as well. It would be around $620k if you paid it off in 25 years. A big portion of people would be able to cut out $100k in interest repayments.

So in reality the difference between the two isn't all that big ($50-100k maybe) and the difference is one person has rented for 25 years, the other owns a property and probably is halfway through a second as well.
