I looked up a guy on Facebook recently who I went to the Adelaide Oval Kiss concert with in 1980, as youngsters. His profile photo was him as an adult in Gene Simmons make-up with his tongue poking out. Some people just can't let go.
Facebook certainly shows you why you let some friendships go in the past

*although it works in reverse at times

My high school captain's room is literally just KISS merch. He wears a KISS shirt every time I see him now and then. He went to their show when they were in Melbourne then went to see them in Sydney the next night. He regularly goes to KISS cover band concerts. He's not a bad guy, but...

What? Kid popular enough to be high school captain in 2016 is a KISS tragic? Now that is news!

Up there with "Why are we giving money to muslims when we have plenty of our own people in this county living in the streets (the same people I scoff at and walk away from when they ask me for some spare change in the street)" memes.
"If they want money they can work like I have to"

KISS fans are something else. I know a bloke that went with 3 other mates in full costume as each member to the last tour.

At their peak in the late-70's KISS were a phenomenon. They were absolutely massive, the likes of which I've not seen since. That some people remain fanatical about them in this day and age is a little bit humorous I think.

If this isnt the most deliciously ironic post...

The candidates had to pass through the coordinators first. The only other guy running was still doing Scouts at that point so it wasn't a tough choice. Plus there's a bit of charisma / cult of personality about the KISS guy so it was a landslide. 2014 fyi I am not 12.

Nobody was dressed up as Angus Malcolm Cliff Chris and Brian when I went. A few people had schoolboy jackets on and caps on, that is as far as it went. Even then, it isn't a elaborate costume.

Except the slutty school girl girls, but they don't count.

It just doesn't compare to full makeup full costume KISS people.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with anyone who was 12 from the late 70s to early 80s being into KISS at the time. The key was to move on when you turned 14

Which I did. Went from KISS records for my birthday to Siouxsie & The Banshees albums for my 14th birthday.

I'm reminded of that line from Detroit Rock City, when Eddie Furlong? Attemps to stop a robbery.

Robber: Yeah, you and what army?
EF: ... The KISS army!

Definitely something else.

Eddie Trunk is the ****ing worst. His voice grates on me like nothing else.

Thank goodness we have navy instead of the state's royal blue. Yes our colours can look tacky together, but they can be arranged to look good. While our home guernsey and colours aren't exactly the epitome of classy design, their history and meaning is more important than changing it.

To be fair, they have won two premierships in it. They just need to accept that and stop trying to somehow create tenuous links to Adelaide FC from the like, 1900's or whatever.

Geeze, never in my 26 years of living in the southern suburbs have i ever seen Saltfleet St closed because of the onka flooding, coming round from the jetty and the SES have closed off the bridge.

Took some pics of the onka and the waves, i'll upload some later.

Agree. There's been plenty worse out there. I think they just wanted to move away from white as its not one of their colours.

And, we got our own road to walk. I don't even live in SA, but I tire of petty mudslinging. We laugh when they bring something on themselves...and they do...we don't have to invent things, really we don't.
