National Party of Australia

2013 - If automotive manufacturing is not economically viable the taxpayer should not be providing financial support
2016 - If dairy farmers are not economically viable they must have taxpayer funded financial support

o_O
Tne Nationals are Agrarian Socialists economically. This hasn't changed since they started.

Ive seen both sides of suicide. One suçcessfull. Not good to see. Ive also seen many failed that could have turned into loss of life. Its hard to turn someone around
that is suicidle. More often than not these days its attention seeking. We live in a
fast food world. God bless.

That I can think of right now, I've known at least 6 people who have committed suicide. Most were indigenous. They weren't looking for attention, they were looking for a way out. One was just 12 years old...a kid. Having seen her grow up it broke my heart when I heard, so sad

One of my very good mates from my twenties hung himself on the back of a bathroom door in his parents house 15 years ago. His partner was pregnant with their first child at the time.

Outwardly he was a joker, the guy that was always up for a laugh and he always had time for others.

No one knew he had depression, not even his family. His medical history came out after his death and shocked everyone who knew him.

He wasn't seeking attention, he wanted to get away from the black dog.

I'm sure others here have similar stories so don't be so flippant when talking about something that has had a devastating impact on so many. Given your own experience I'd have thought this would be self evident.

Old-timer sitting next to me on the mile long wooden bench in the food court keeps letting rip with the loudest farts.

So loud they turn heads and people keep looking over our way and I swear they blame me for his volcanic arse eruptions.

Meanwhile, old mate and his wife just DGAF...

I've heard from some people they essentially have an overwhelming feeling that the world/ their family and friends will be better off without them. The thought of suicide at that point is not the selfish escape some people rattle on about, but the best thing to do for everyone, I imagine it can be as strong as a desire to eat, sleep, drink or have sex, which I'm sure everyone knows can be absolute.

It sounds genuinely terrifying to me...

I'm sure it varies radically from person to person, but your own brain can be a real campaigner sometimes that's for sure.

On a brighter note we went and saw Matilda a couple of weeks back, listening to the sound track again now.

Really, really amazing, I highly recommend it!!

It is actually perfect that old wrinkles is coaching the SANFULL state team.. could anything sum the league up any better lol.

Antiquated, irrelevant, inflated opinion of importance.. get Knuckles on the selection panel & it's still 1985

Good lord that INXS vs Chisel fight on the main board has now morphed in to a KISS vs Led Zeppelin.

There is absolutely no comparison between the inefficient car manufacturing industry and the dairy sector which is a very efficient producer.

The primary reason why dairy farmers are struggling is the two major supermarket powers have all but destroyed it with their obscene discounting.

But, what the hell, customers are only too happy to buy cheap milk and not give a stuff about the producer(s).

It may to do a little research about the dairy industry.

Footnote: I am not a fan of the national mob.

Can't blame supermarkets for getting their customers the best deal, although can blame them for making it easier to buy 2L than a 1L carton. If unit pricing was more aligned I'd only buy it in the litre.

I'm not disagreeing and if the dairy farmers went to the wall prices would rise importing it. I'm happy for Dairy farmers to get support, whilst thinking all the money spent propping up cars was money pissed down the drain. It was an observation on why the Nationals think that way, not a dig at them (for that issue at least).

You seriously have absolutely no idea. If you call screwing the dairy industry to the point of bankruptcy and they once again start pouring milk down the drain as has happened. perhaps some folk may re-think.

As mentioned, suggest you take the time to really research how the industry works.

That look. Yeahhhh we're coming for ya and we're gonna prove our league is less shit than yours *flexes insecurity*
If you didn't look too closely at the logo's you'd think he'd been taking clothing out of Don Pyke's cupboard during a breaking and entering job. It's moved from the Crows trying to hijack the state guernsey to the state team trying to hijack Adelaide's. Talk about about an incestuous relationship between the AFC and SANFL.

The auto industry in this country made a plethora of bad decisions but again something that should be blamed on the Australian people failing to support it to the level it once did and the governments making it easier to acquire imported vehicles.

I don't know what I see more of, BMWs on the road or at the mechanic, but you know, foreign made prestige for the yuppie yobbo.

Now there's a well balanced reply:thumbsu:

Many strange 'things' come from QLD and the nats are up near the top of the list.:)
