My interpretation post the VR/S series.

VT: Bubbly
VY: More square and angular
VE: Stupidly bulky, only looks good in a sports model
VF: Pretty damn fine, well balanced, nice note to go out on.

I wouldn't know. All new cars resemble VW Bug wannabes to me

Lol - Woolworths must really be struggling. They want me to spend about twice as much as I normally would a week for each of the next four weeks and then they'll give me $70.00

Time to stock up on Oak flavoured milk and Four-n-Twenty pies, or maybe a fillet steak or two!

Not long finished a molten caramel Oak. Was delish

It's true. Went on that Ancestry site awhile back and using the various search engines and documentation, managed to trace my paternal side all the way back to 1790-1800ish Ireland.

From my grandfather back I have no ****ing idea who these people are. But there's a Stawell Gift winner, a Footscray reserves player, a slew of military and going back further, a family tradition of being ubercompetitive in ploughing matches, which were apparently quite a thing back in the day.

All these people would have had jobs, loves, kids, hobbies, foibles, fears, dreams, memories and preferences that meant the world to them. 2-3+ generations on, they're just some ink on a few documents.

As Sarah Connor's waitressing mate in Terminator says right after the kid puts ice cream in her pocket, "look at it this way, in 100 years who's gonna care?"

I am descended from a prince from Germany, a few convict paupers, a County Corkette from Ireland, a Bavarian from Barrossa and allegedly Genghis Khan. I will become a memory on the interwebz when I die. It's all I can hope for

I did one of those DNA tests a couple months ago. Conclusion is that I am white as ****, with a stray East Asian in the mix at least 10 generations ago.

Huge con job for what an individual would like to known. Fine for mass population studies.

There is no way they can be that specific as there has been too much interbreeding and movement.

Yeah, I dunno. It does segment it a bit and it all matches up pretty well with the family genealogy thats been done, so its good from that perspective.

At some point in the not too distant future, people will have video recordings of their entire life's experiences, so I think the 2-3 generation thing will change. It will cause those born before the technology to have a massive black spot in their history, comparatively, similar to those around prior to social media.

...game ... live action trailer...

Cool video but never understood the point of these. It doesn't sell a game to me. It's window dressing, which is fine, but it is clear that a lot of effort was out in to making that, a lot of effort for window dressing.

Sells the story, the atmosphere and the genre. Hardly window dressing. It's not as if it's in isolation, there are trailers with gameplay.

What it needed was more really dreadful things, like, I thought the backing track should have been an audio recording of edgie getting booed off the stage at Broken Hill's presumably solitary pub on karaoke night, where his cover of some shit ACDC B-side no one's ever heard of went down like Steven Gerrard in Istanbul. If they'd done that, maybe I'd be interested in their engaging narrative, but instead it's just meaningless fluff I look at like Ken Hinkley surveying the scenes at a preseason footy match.

ho boy

The new Deux Ex game has an incredible live action trailer like the previous. Could make a non-video game player excited tbh.

Shiiiieeeet! I hate getting all hyped so far from release, but that did it.

I wish they'd release the recommended specs already. I need to know if my ageing, crippled beast will run it well, or if I should go PS4 version.
I would much rather play this on PC like have the rest of the series though.

There's a movie called Final Cut or something similar with Robin Williams that explores this sort of stuff. Nice dark movie, Robin had a talent for the serious stuff.

Where/how do you get these done?

Being offered by Ancestry.com.au producers of 'Family Tree Maker'. I understand only available if you have purchased one of the versions of FTM.

I haven't bothered to take the test but have used the platinum version of FTM.

Also an episode of Black Mirror :thumbsu:

Also rather white. Only big surprise was the Iberian Peninsula stuff.

Bienvenido!

I am not sure about the genotype of people from the Iberian peninsula in this test but Celts migrated to Ireland and Britain from the north of the Iberian peninsula so maybe most people of Irish ancestry have "Iberian" DNA. Not necessarily linked to modern Spanish and Portuguese DNA.

Or maybe one of your British ancestors decided to get some action in the continent a few generations ago!
