Starsan is expensive, but worth it.

From my experience, you can still make a very decent brew with non-controlled fermentation. However, very few beers will survive poorly sanitised conditions.

Spend a few extra bucks on Starsan and sanitise everything = less devil's piss beer ;)

I don't really have the money for it ATM, Miltons is $8 for a litre compared to $50 for the same amount. I just have to rinse out the bottles better next time.

Absolutely.

Give 'em a good scrub with a bottle brush and don't forget to sanitise anything you use in the brewing process as well.

What kind of beers are you brewing?

This forum is the internet equivalent of Cheers :P

Making your way in the world today
Takes everything you've got
Taking a break from all your worries
Sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away?

The side just got outcoached by Pyke
Wingard is looking pale
And the new look game plan
Seems like an epic fail
And your child wants to be a Crow
Sometimes you wanna go
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You wanna be where you can see
Our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everyone knows your name

Roll out of bed
And shake your head
Cause Ken isn't coaching right
And your drinking maple syrup
Cause you lost a bet last night
And Ollie said we played like girls
Be glad there's one place in the world
Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You wanna go where people know
People are all the same
You wanna go where everybody knows your name

Coopers Pale Ale, it might be too cold for it at the moment

I do sanitise the fermenter over night with a quarter bottle of miltons, The beer i tried from my latest batch was alright but not carbonated enough. I'll try another in a few days.

If not Melbourne, where?
New York - Baseball, gridiron, soccer, basketball, ice hockey, boxing etc. etc.
London - soccer, rugby, boxing etc.

On what basis?
Yankees, Mets, Madison Square Gardens, Knicks, Red Bull, City, Islanders, Giants, Jets, Rangers...that's without the college teams.

They even have a side in the GAA all Ireland Gaelic football league.

Nearly every major professional sport with a professional team.

Oh and Flushing Meadows (I think).

Flushing Meadow (US Open) too.

Nice work.

Have found an improvement with an extra week or two carbing in the bottle as well.
Hopefully this happens for you.

When i moved house i found a couple of bottles of stout i tried to make about 8 years ago in the back of the pantry, i wasn't game to try them because iirc the brew failed for some reason but when i cracked them open to pour down the sink they smelled really nice.

Muhammed Ali has died according to 3aw.. nothing on my news feed

Saw him go round in a car before the 1998 GF. Knew he was one of the great boxers, remembered him lighting the torch at the Atlanta Games etc, but it was a case of "ohhh cool" *polite applause*.

Saw When We Were Kings on SBS not long after and retrospectively realised I'd been in the presence of true sporting greatness and probably should've applauded a bit harder than a 58yo lady recognising Ian Baker-Finch tapping in for par at Royal Huntingdale.

"Will they ever have another fighter who writes poems, predicts rounds, beats everybody, makes people laugh, makes people cry, and is as tall and extra pretty as me?"

I'm a bit the same I've only really seen the documentaries & youtubed all the epic fights in the last few years.

RIP Legend

Lol. This is akin to Malbun dubbing itself the Sporting Capital of the Universe.
Name somewhere that does coffee better than Australia.

Italy? Fine for espresso, but for coffee with milk everywhere I went used UHT.

New York? Other than one hipster place in Williamsburg I couldn't find a decent coffee anywhere.

France? Don't even start.

London has some good coffee places, mostly those with Australian barristas.

Maybe it's what you're used to, but I would stack Australian coffee up against anyone's. I reckon I could pick half a dozen places in one street in Sydney that does better coffee that any place I've been to overseas, and that's without bringing in deconstructed coffee from Melbourne.

Having the best coffee culture is kind of like having the best racism culture, though.

There is no point to coffee.

Huh? It's delicious and keeps you awake.
