GTA5 gets a lot of hype but to say that Watchdogs was better is flat out ridiculous.

Maybe I was just so let down by GTA V it felt worse. I bought it in to hype train on that and everything, and what I got was the least enjoyable GTA since the 3D era. Watch Dogs I didn't even care for, a mate asked me if I'm going to the midnight launch and I'm like "for what?", anyhow I ended up tagging along cause I hadn't seen him for a while, and purchased it spontaneously. I enjoyed the expectation free experience.

Perhaps, objectively it isn't better, but it didn't disappoint me and leave such a sour taste personally. I'm astounded it's still being played and has a loyal fanbase. I don't think Watch Dogs was the disaster it was made out to be though. It's badness has been overstated. It's mediocre, no more or less.

Also the main reason it gets panned is because Ubisoft promised the world with that game and flat out lied about how it would look in the lead up to its release. They do this with every game they publish. Show off a high tech demo of a game at its peak graphical quality and in every ensuing trailer/gameplay video etc., just knock it down a tad so by the time the game comes out the common consumer has no idea.

You don't need to explain this to me. I also bought Aliens: Colonial Marines. I was drunk during the entire time I played it.

And the best old Adelaide ads were the Mid Dawn Club ads, live to air on Channel 9 late Friday and Saturday nights, hosted by Bob Puchetti that Italian American who looked a bit like Harry Shearer.

Hell, I've just spent the last hour watching 80s Adelaide ads on You Tube.

Some "classics" in there. Local low-end ads haven't got any better since then, either. If anything, they've got worse. Yeah, Gotta Getta Gutta, I'm looking at you!

My brother-in-law did a whole bunch of those live late night ads back in the mid-80s, lol...
