So I moved. And sighed. And glared just a little.
Not the worst thing I've experienced on public transport, but foodwise it was up there with the Sushi Breakfast Twins Incident of 2012.

There is nothing worse than someone eating in an enclosed space like public transport, i remember catching the train into the city one morning and a group of 10 kids came on all eating maccas. I nearly hurled, the smell of it was ****ing disgusting.

Why? $50m / km is pretty standard cost. Melbourne has 249 kms of tram tracks and they reckon it would cost $30bil+ to put it in new new from scratch. Sydney have looked at it and with rolling stock it's over $100m per km. The Gold Coast tram was either $1.2bil for 16 kms or $1.6b for 12 kms. Pretty sure it was less than $100m/km. Seattle's expansion a few years ago averaged at $35m USD per km.
