I'll take a crab juice SA Labor :p

Jay Weatherill could make compulsory infanticide and an 80% flat income tax cornerstone policies of the next election campaign and Bert Lucas would find a way to rack up his third decade in opposition.

I do quite like Stewart Martian though. Seems like a good leader of the opposition.

Let's face it in SA we don't exactly have a great choice but we do know it doesn't matter as it's become impossible to vote Labour out. I think with state politics most people will be like myself, have actually not a clue what any of them actually look like just know which side made a decision. We did have the farcical election where they copied each other on everything though, I think it was the one before last and was basically you are going to get a new:

Hospital
Football Stadium
Redevelopment behind gov house
etc etc

Just which version we got depended on who won. That's some real SA there, not like we have bigger issues or anything as Tassie rapidly closes in to pass us and allow us to become Australia's shittest state (economically)

I liken SA politics to the v8 supercars, it's like no matter how long you've been racing and how old you are with absolutely no hope of ever being no 1 you just selfishly keep driving each season and holding out anyone else.

State politics. All about who can offer to spend the most money, they'll then whinge that the federal government isn't giving them enough of. Most people know the ALP is better at racking up spending, so unless you can score the rare 'law & order' victory, or the corruption of the local ALP becomes too blatant it's always going to be pushing shit up hill for State Liberals these days.

But now with Mr X calling the shots in Canberra there should be lots more $$$ for Jay to spend...

is anyone else having trouble getting their Private Health Insurance tax statements?

F**king Medibank, making us wait until 15th of July to access them, thereby delaying my tax return lodgement by 15 days, previous years I've received it on the 2nd or 3rd of July, other than marketing drivel, they're not giving any real explanation for the delay

Mine was pretty succinct, lodged my return on Monday.

Yeah especially considering that 15 years is the mandatory minimum for murder over there.
Yeah I don't get that, how is it even possible for the judge to go beyond the law and downgrade his sentence that long? He was still sentenced for murder, right?

The article I read says the judge cited "mitigating factors including rehabilitation and remorse" as reasons for deviating from the standard sentence. WTF?!

So it's a 9 year discount because he said "soz bae totes feel bad for killingz ya" it seems.

*Unless extenuating circumstances.

**Of which there aren't any.
