Recently I've been helping my octogenarian father-in-law download jazz audio from Youtube. I seriously believe he actually likes jazz.

Hipsters though ......

At 80, he was literally into Jazz before it was cool.

Miles released Birth of the Cool in the late 1950s - recorded a decade or so earlier.
That makes Wharfie's father-in-law a true stalwart of the genre. Or a hipster. Or both ;)

The idiot gun nuts like to tell you that shooting deaths are higher in cities where guns are controlled and regulated - like Detroit and New York because people can't defend themselves (with guns)

So what's the excuse this time?

Lucretia, Tornado of Souls and Hangar 18 solos are better than anything Poland has ever done
Marty is a great guitarist.. without getting all youtube Herpa vs Derpa I just prefer Poland's style & I really like a few of his solo albums.

We can all agree that MD have been a piece of poo since Cryptic Writings.

I've listened to the last MD album twice I reckon ermmm just doesn't do alot for me

Probably listened to the Budgie cover on there a dozen times but it's more out of love for the riff.

Belief is their excuse, pure and simple.

They choose to exclude non-USA cities from their ANALysis because the USA is "special" and "different".

Right. Said every "chosen" people ever :(

The pseudo-religiousity attached to their second Amendment makes it almost as hard a conversation as the one with, let me just call them "literalist" Muslims for lack of an agreed neutral term, about Mohammed's relationships with the women in his life.

Disagree. Everything since System Has Failed has been perfectly enjoyable metal. If you cobbled together the best dozen from their last 5 albums, you'd have an all time classic.

I reckon I struggle with modern production. It makes everything feel too slick and plasticky. I like roughness and rawness - the stuff that lets you know that there's a human playing it. That's why the 80s records of any of those bands will always be better than anything they do in the future.

"All time classic"

Fuah. You'd have a So Far...-tier good album.
