You're doing exactly what she said people would do and effectively proving her point by calling her comment "racist babble", the part about "as a mother" was obviously made because shock horror, she is a mother and she was most moved by the Nice tragedy through the deaths of the children. It's not actually that outlandish a qualifying statement to make. What you are arguing is that she has used it as a facade to make a racist comment, I disagree given the above.

As for the pro islam bias, i'll leave you to think what you want because i'm not interested in arguing this point.
As if the suggestion that we should ban an entire group of people from the country on a flimsy accusation that they're going to murder children (!) is "not actually that outlandish".

Her point is essentially that freedom of speech means her views can't be construed as anything other than agreeable and good.

Sorry I probably wasn't clear. I meant that her use of the term "as a mother" was not outlandish given the context. Her actual comment about banning muslims all together is however - outlandish.

edgie, pls. Con the concreter busted his arse putting down the new footpath in our street. Keep this flagrant disrespect and wanton vandalism in Broken Hill, thx. It has no place in these genteel Northern Suburbs...

I know a bloke called Con who sings AC/DC at karaoke, ****ing well as well.

House prices in your street just doubled.

Thinking my next movie project should be a propaganda piece retelling the events of THE BATTLE OF BROKEN HILL.

With lines like "but owing to my grudge against Chief Sanitary Inspector Brosnan it was my intention to kill him first" it just writes itself.

In the 1984 original there was no suggestion of this, but apparently in a 2010 remake? it was suggested that he was.

I always thought it was part of it before the remake. I'll send my brother a text, he's the 80s slasher expert that used to run a Friday the 13th fan site on the internet.

(Even) More importantly: Are you Team Swift or Team Kimye?

If we are talking "you have to choose one of the two, with no possible other option." then I guess I have to be team...yeah I actually can't do this.

For those of you who had never heard of this, i.e. everyone: http://www.migrationheritage.nsw.gov.au/exhibition/enemyathome/battle-of-broken-hill/. I particularly liked the bit about cutting the hoses of the firefighters who came to stop the German Club burning down because the Turkish oops Afghani protagonists were clearly sausage fans in disguise.

Ten points for incredibly obscure halal reference. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

He was a child serial killer n the original, he was killed by a mob of angry parents.

Yeah, that's why the parents captured him and burnt him in the furnace.

Inspector brosnan can be played by Pierce Brosnan.

Prefixing an opinion with "I'm not a racist but" doesn't make that opinion any more or less racist.

Also for the record, Islam is not a race.

I think the overriding point is that the term "as a mother" has been corrupted by its constant abuse, to the extent that it makes someone sound like an idiot even when using it in a reasonable context.

I don't disagree.

Don't really get why this point is raised every time (by people defending themselves). It's like, congrats, you've won the semantics battle. You're still a bigot. It's still not alright to group all the muslims together under the terrorists banner.

OK, if Islamophobes are racist which race is it they don't feel safe around?

If I don't like Christians does that make me racist?
