Good thing is, doctorates are actually free for the first four years thanks to the governments "ideas boom". They pay for PhD's by research, so I actually wouldn't be out of pocket aside from decreased income for the few years i'm a student.

Well, I do work at CBS at the moment. So I just need to go down to level 1 and lodge a name change request. I don't expect I would receive supportive facial expressions when I tell them my new last name is "Feel".

Scientists Prove It’s Possible To Be A Mother And Also A Racist

A long-held maxim of science has fallen this morning, as scientists working out of the CSIRO have conclusively proven that being a mother does not automatically exclude someone from the possibilities of being a racist.

For centuries the thinking held that one could not be a bigot of any designation if they had clearly stated that they were “actually just a mother”. However, leading scientists this morning announced a fundamental breakthrough in what’s being called the ‘mother/racist duality’ which allows a person to exist in a quantum state of both designations.

“It’s a remarkable breakthrough,” said one researcher. “It opens up all kinds of possibilities. Just yesterday it would be reasonable to believe that something you said couldn’t have been racist because you had been previously confirmed to be a mother. Now we find that both are possible.

“It seems that having children does not inherently make an opinion less bigoted. Turns out they’re two entirely different concepts with absolutely no relevance to one another. You may have different concerns if you are a parent but our research shows that’s not actually an excuse for vilifying others.

“This will have wide-ranging implications across the nation. From this point forward people will have to put thought into what they say instead of presuming that it’s totally fine to demonise a minority and consider yourself protected by the magical aura of parenthood.

“Of course this doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to have an opinion, it just means that you’re not given a free pass on what you espouse as merely the thoughts of a concerned parent. That would be utterly ridiculous, anyway. To even attempt such a gambit would be deeply intellectually dishonest and a pretty disgusting way to use your children as a shield from criticism for your own bigotry.

“It’s just nice to know that being a parent isn’t limiting. You can be whatever you want to be. You can be a parent and still be a bigot. It’s the 21st century. Reach for the stars.”
