There was a kid at my school called Ramsbottom.

You're right it's some guy's pet and he takes it for walks around town.

I was just talking to the people working at the Kino Cinema candy bar about it and they said that the sheep's name is Jackie Chan!

Edit: Jackie Chan the Ram. The almost rhyming name makes sense I guess!

It is surprisingly not that uncommon a name. I've personally met two people with that name, one in NSW and one in QLD. As for what it sounds like, I have met hundreds.

He had no idea what it meant so was cool with it in the beginning. (came about through a play on an alliteration with his surname)
By the time someone had told him, the name had already stuck.
