Only Premier ever to play a 23 game Home & Away season.
Had one of the hardest draws with double ups against; reigning premier, 2nd Brisbane, 3rd Port & 5th Carlton.
Played the 2 clearly struggling sides NM & WC only once and both times away.
Lost clearly best 22 players during Finals; McStay & Adams
Lost key defender Murphy in game before quarter time of GF.
Three finals, three wins.
Not saying one of all time great Premierships, but clearly a very meritorious and deserved one.

Uhhh, isn't it better to have one of your few away games against bad teams? You could play North and West coast on the moon and it wouldn't have mattered.

What exactly has this got to do with collingwoods standing amongst other premiers ?
Did ya chuck that one in for the lols or what?
also the only premier to play a neutral away match in adelaide.

Also the only premier to wear black and white at a neutral away match in adelaide.

Also the only premier to wear black and white at a neutral away match in adelaide with some team members with the letter a in some of their names.

Really some unique firsts collingwood had to climb over.

Suspect it was because they only just snuck into the top 4 on both occasions, combined with it being the weakest era in the history of the game.

Pies won 3 from 3.

Would we have won a bigger trophy if we...
...had finished top two?
...had played in a stronger era?

Also, there was no sneaking in to the top four.

For 15 rounds of the 2017 season we were in the top four, including the last six rounds of the season. Of the other seven rounds there was only one round where we were not at least equal on points whichever team was 4th. We finished half a game behind first and second. We were a David Mundy goal after the siren away from being minor premiers.

In 2019 we were in the top four for only six rounds, but five of those were the last five rounds of the season. We were in the top four or level on points with whoever was 4th for 12 rounds. We were only percentage off top spot.

Regardless, we all know that your Fadgorithm is poor at rating players, so why would we trust it at rating the strength of eras?

the 2017 flag statistically is a bit of a freak, in spite of dominating the finals series, you look at their record during the regular season was absolute trash.
We lost just two games by over 14 points, how exactly is that "absolute trash"?

Going off this century alone , the 2023 premiership team would rank around 15-20th out of 23 years.
My opinion although Fadge won't agree because it's not his opinion

Probably the most amount of players to win a flag with Tatts too!

Also the only premier who’s coach had a baby on grand final day and named her after the team!

Although to be fair it was out of Maggie or pendles so probably went the best option.

Quaynor is Australian

I'm eligible for both Italian and Hungarian citizenship by descent, and ethnically I look Eastern European, but I'm not Eastern European. I'm Australian. My ethnic background is Eastern European.

Apologies if there is someone else you were referring to that was born in Africa.

I actually think pendles would have been cute, she’d get pendy mostly and she’d know she was in trouble when her folks called her pendles.
