because they're ****ing *******s who can't bounce the ball properly.

It's their fault that talk about the end of bounce came about in the first place, and because they are the *******s who can't bounce they say it should be axed. If they could bounce it properly then none of this would've ever happened

I say we shoot all the AFL umpires, and just get amatuers into do it. The umpires i have seen in the little leagues are 1000 x better than the AFL umps.

I'd like to see you get 8 out of 10 bounces to go up straight.

i probably could after enough practice.

I remember in my playing days, there were occasoins where we just stand around and bounce the ball like the umpire for no particular reason, and generally, they didn't go all over the place.

OK, I don't know how old you people are who are carrying on about the bounce, but I would say fairly young.
If you go back to the 70's & 80's when the grounds were a mud paddock for most of the season, when the ball was bounced it never was perfect but the players adapted, it has only been recently that they throw the ball up instead of bouncing it when the ground is too soft.
That is the unpredicatability of our game, stop tryng to change it, if you don't like it follow some other sport, instead of trying to make our game like others.

Like everything, technique always falls apart under pressure. :) Watch all the ancient films of football, the umpire didn't even bend down and the ball went everywhere and didn't bounce very high.

That last bounce in the centre that they showed on talking footy, Ok, it didn't bounce that high but it was still fairly straight. The only reason the Spider Burton didn't get to the contest is because he was standing too far away. It was smart thinking by the Hawthorn ruckmen. No-one mentioned that.

I did, though not here ;) It was certainly higher then the "4 foot" throwaway line used by Pagan after the game.

Sandie, well said.
