Enjoyed that first episode. What interested me as a Port supporter was them running from Etihad to the MCG with bricks, gives me an idea of what Darren Burgess may be doing with our players to get them so fit.
If they make them kick the bricks from 50 the show would be a winner.

Really? Tatura is my old hometown.

Dhurringile is basically a big house with a few buildings around it.

The local cows have better security keeping them in their paddocks.
Yep. I'm from up that way as well, and I've been inside Dhurringile(no, not as an inmate).

That intraclub game was filmed after the top 12 was selected. There is strong word of who the winner already is.

Considering it's reality TV not a shock they'd manipulate this with editing, but wow that's... odd.

So what purpose was the game for then, to give everyone a run around/bit of AFL exposure?

SO it looks like it was picked form an intraclub game. The blokes that were taken off in the last bit and told that was it were not very dejected or upset about it. Reality tv at its best.

Biggest w.anker is clearly that bloke from Tassie. . DJ is it?
The fella that kicked 8 would looked a class above just from that intraclub.
The Jackal is a fairly solid unit

Didn't mind it, should be an interesting watch over the next few weeks.
Yeah it was ok. Geez you can see why Michael Voss didn't make it as a coach. His rev ups were pretty uninspiring

Doesn't explain DJs injury though. They couldn't predict the future and that was mentioned multiple times while picking the 12... then he injured it in the game.
That's why Don Draper 's story makes no sense, that intraclub was played before the final 12 were picked

So we've got:

Bradie Foster - 204cm former volleyballer/basketballer who looks a good athletic prospect, would draw interest from AFL recruiters
Johann Wagner - 190cm forward who tore up their practice game and looks athletic and skilled enough to play
Waylen Manson - pretty much Liam Jurrah like with skills but also Jurrah like in that he's from a remote community and has a heap of fitness work to do and also is very naive about the AFL industry

There is another basketballer and the weird nail polish guy but really the rest look like battling local footballers who'd you tell to go to a VFL club and see how you fare before drafting. They don't seem all that special and you have to wonder why they can't crack it at VFL/other state leagues and how they think they'd get to play AFL without doing that.

Just going off what I was told. Didn't watch much of the show, what was this injury that occurred?
A guy did his calf. Then when they went from 20 down to the final 12 they picked 11 and then picked 2 together including the guy with the calf injury. Another guy had his arm bandaged in the back of the group as well.

They very well could've fudged that game but it wouldn't make much sense to me. I would've thought they filmed that game when they had the final 50 to cut down to 12 and done it properly instead of fudging the game at a later time. If you were part of the 40 who didn't make the cut you wouldn't be too happy turning up to Vic Park on a cold wet day to film a match that now didn't count for anything.

Was a monty to get picked for the final 12 (well, 13 now), but did a calf in the practice game and was very close to not making it through.

Yeah magic of filming and editing. Could very well have happened. Take a look at the footage of them being dragged off and told it was over, minimal devastation shown. I stand by original claim. He could have easily injured his calf between filming and needed it to be staged as an injury.

Sometimes Occam's Razor needs to be applied.
