DJ has very good AFL endurance, don't listen to what Boomer said about running 16.5 beep, he is FOS. Port Adelaide had 5-6 guys run 16 beeps and that was the most in the AFL, I know Hawthorn had only 2 ( Hill and Smith). If you're running 14 beeps you're a freak athlete, hell if you're in the 13s you are super fit.

My point is that while 'DJ' has pretty good endurance what else does he have that will make him succeed at AFL level? Bradd Dalziell has elite endurance and was delisted from arguably the worst midfield in the league.

I reckon DJ would have won the goal kicking test too, I rate his kick very highly. But yes, very very arrogant and on himself these days no doubt about it.

See this is the thing that shits me about the show, I want to know how each guy tests, what are their stats? How are they tracking in comparison to each other. I dare say had we been given access to that data it would be plainly obvious that Waylon has absolutely no right to be on the show.

That's why. Because at his size without tremendous skills, natural ball winning ability and great speed and endurance the guy they voted off was never ever going to get a kick at AFL level.

For all the problems Waylen has whether they are from his personality, culture and community upbringing or all over the above he can run fast, mark and kick a goal. Waylo might face a lot of the issues Jurrah did (and I'm talking Jurrah before the went off the rails) but the guy could play. Jurrah single handedly dragged me to the footy. No slow 175cm unskilled player has. Tyrone's ceiling was probably a poor mans Leigh Adams. Would you rather that or the next Jurrah even if he comes with issues?

He would need to show considerable effort, not results, just more effort for me to want to pick him up.

Token efforts in team events, riding literally on the backs of the hard work the other guys are putting in doesn't look good to me. Keeping his oar damp while the rest busted a gut... It looked to me like copying what the others did was hard and nobody called him out on it while he was at the back.

I'm curious to see what would happen if they had a task where his effort alone would decide the team result.

I would rather someone who gives 100% and doesn't look for the easy way out or excuses. At least you Know what you are getting.

I watched DJ play in the Tasmanian state league grand final last year in which he played in the winning team. I had never seen nor heard of him before watching the game but gee I was impressed. He didn't win the BOG medal but I thought he was bloody stiff not to. Is an elite runner, penetrating left foot and reads the play really well. Definitely a forward running midfielder with a lot of determination.

Yep, they need to show or play another game or 2 on this show so everyone at home can see where these players are really at. Jumping out of a helicopter doesn't tell you as much as dominating a game of footy.

I don't think he ran. From memory he had a knee bandage in the following scenes so it was probably injury related.

Waylon has been kicking the footy around in the middle of the desert with no facilities. He's coming from a much lower base. He's understandably feeling out of his depth.

he's coming last but he isn't getting blown away. Someone from his low base would be far further back if he wasn't trying. I suspect he's trying very hard, it's just not coming across that way due to the edit. He wasn't even unanimously the "worst" according to his teammates. Additionally, I'd bet if they were picking teams, he'd be nowhere near the bottom. What's more relevant to footy players, the ability to row or the ability to play?
