He will be out of the kitchen very soon. Just a matter of time.

Doesn't matter how much talent you have or skill if you have, if you aren't prepared to put in the hard work it is a waste.
I'd love for him to prove me wrong but I just don't see it.
he's coming last but he isn't getting blown away. Someone from his low base would be far further back if he wasn't trying. I suspect he's trying very hard, it's just not coming across that way due to the edit. He wasn't even unanimously the "worst" according to his teammates. Additionally, I'd bet if they were picking teams, he'd be nowhere near the bottom. What's more relevant to footy players, the ability to row or the ability to play? The fitness based challenges thus far were never going to be his strength.

He was skirting his oar across the top of the water.

He had the entire squad ahead of him to see what to do.

I'm not going to say he was slacking off, but it sure looked like it. Didn't he say something along the lines of: "I've never been near water before, so why should I do it?"

He does come across as having a poor attitude a lot of the time but I don't find his lack of ability in paddling a dinghy that interesting.

I want to see these guys kicking and marking and handpassing and running etc. 10 weeks or whatever it is of team building exercises and psychology sessions a dull television series will make.

we saw that for a few seconds. He could very well have adjusted. That's the danger of believing all you see on reality shows. They're designed to create drama and stories.

He fears the ocean, sees no relevance to football and doesn't like it. It didn't stop him leaping from a helicopter and completing the task.

Let's see what happens when his effort isn't carried along by the rest of the group, then we will see how he goes.

Last place carrying his block. He will need to dominate the skills exercises to carry a poor physical application ability.

I'm not sure he will be cut, I think he will pull the pin himself.

As I said in previous posts I hope he does prove me wrong and dig in, I just don't think he will.

As for the bolded part, the first few didn't mention him as they didn't want to hurt his feelings (IMO) but as soon as someone mentioned his name they all jumped on board.

I'm talking about the private voting and the results they showed. He was mostly last but it wasn't unanimous.

I'm not suggesting he'll win it but rather that he's fallen victim to a tough edit, he's a unique case and if they're looking for blokes capable of playing AFL, he's probably still ahead of a number of blokes there despite his deficiencies.

This isn't a competition to reward the best trier regardless of their suitability to AFL footy.

It's so obvious that they are handling him with kid gloves to avoid transgressing some imaginary racial barrier. I don't really think that if DJ was last in any contest, the remainder of the group would be urging him to the finish line.

Pffft, 13s. Brad Hogg scoffs at this.:D

My point is that while 'DJ' has pretty good endurance what else does he have that will make him succeed at AFL level? Bradd Dalziell has elite endurance and was delisted from arguably the worst midfield in the league.

Pretty much, Sam Menegola is still yet to crack a senior game at two clubs despite being a freakish good endurance runner and a good size for a midfielder too. Those are two pretty important assets (running ability and size) and it's still not enough to mask poor skills.

Someone like Puopolo nearly fits this bill. Short, average skills, average endurance etc. but has burst speed that sets him apart from other state league players and allows him to play a valuable role with the Hawks.

I want to see football related tasks and shows the stats as a table with results. I'm stats mad and would love to have seen the individual beep results.

Have a target 50 metres away. 1 metre circle worth 100 points with concentric circles lowering in value and they get 5 shots. Then a handball challenge then a marking challenge. Not blooding abseiling and jumping out of helicopters. Have a wheelie bin on the back of the ute driving away and trying to land it in would be better than non-footy related challenges.

Also can we refrain from spoilers. Finding out who is top 5 or 3 now is a bummer for us interested in the result and watching it unfold.

Anyone remember the QB challenge?

Even if Waylen doesnt win, Burgess is keen as mustard at getting him to P.A

Burgess will want the challenge of getting him fit and firing and imagine the accolades he would get if Manson had a 50 goal year in the AFL

Best thing about this show is Dean Burgess it's brilliant the insight we get into what they are looking at in these players

Waylan seems like a protected species doesn't sound like he got a kick in the prison game but no criticism

DJ is the classic "bad guy" of the show, if that's the right way to put it.. They're not getting rid of him until they absolutely have to. It's a TV show and they need a bit of drama which he will remain there to provide.
