You can't overlook the classic reality show tactics in this though. Reality shows rate better with a 'villain.' The producers would have realised the player with the most potential for this was DJ early, and would be doing what they could to ensure it continues.

I'm not suggesting DJ isn't a dick, nor that it's rigged - but I'm pretty confident they'd be showing less of DJ's "good" attributes (especially athletically/in games) than he actually shows in the tasks. I think he's a much better player than they make him look.

I was hoping this was going to be a little more transparent than most other reality shows. A little the way TUF seemed to turn up the anti on reality shows.
Unfortunately it is quickly proving itself to be a typical commercial reality show. After 3 shows I have already noticed several segment re-runs where they show the same interview from a week ago. Also how they cut and edit it to just show snippets of situations rather than the full situation just goes to show they think the audience are morons.
DJ classic example, everything pointed at him getting the boot, even the 3 coaches in the war room saying he's gone, they've had enough. But no we need his perceived bad attitude and everyone's perceived dislike of him for ratings so pick someone else, Brack's will do his nail polish isn't rating that well anyway.

Not impressed and quickly running out of patience.

I think it's pretty simple. Commenting on stuff that has been on Fox 8 (or is currently happening on Fox 8) is fine and if you go in the thread before getting up to date on what's happened, you've got no-one to blame but yourself. On the other hand, making comments like '.....makes it to the final three' at this stage of the contest is just being a knob and deserves a pretty harsh penalty, as far as I'm concerned.

Those two are favourites to win this.

I don't think that means much really. Whoever wins the contest would be very lucky to still be in the AFL by the time that Semmel would be thinking about retiring from elite football (31-32).

Goss looks like he's on a pretty solid upward curve and his age and pedigree makes him look like a good chance, as far as I'm concerned.

It's a bit like the contender, with regards to the footage, they show you what they want to show you. So we see Johncock as the bloke with the big mouth, who looked like he was practically bringing a note from his mum every time there was a hard ball to be won.

Manson seemed to pretty much stay out of trouble for this episode, but even if he's still struggling, I've got no issues with him continuing to get a pass, as they delist the dead weight, who are nowhere near the grade. If he continues getting through on current form and the likes of Moreland and Semmel start getting delisted (also going by what they've shown so far), that's when it would start to become a bit tougher to justify.

I barely saw anything of Smith this week, and can't say I know a lot about Hutchinson so far.

Didn't see Waylan in the vertical leap test either. Would find it hard to believe he wouldn't lead the way there.

There's no way the players would be told not to criticise him. What they MIGHT have been taught is the cultural differences and to consider their comments. Regardless, if they didn't want criticism of Waylan shown they'd simply edit it out.

You don't know that he did nothing, they just didn't show much. I don't recall seeing much of Hutch, Wagner or Moreland either.

The Recruits scored 135pts IIRC and nobody was shown to have dominated the scoreboard. It's quite clear the highlights were not an accurate representation of the game.

You're just taking an absurd and uninformed stab in the dark. There's no evidence to suggest Waylan was poor. The vast majority of votes were for 4 other blokes.
