I'm a member of the club Chris Moreland plays for so a bit of a run down on him.
On the field he's an intense player and plays with a lot of fire in his belly. Doesn't like losing.
In and around the play he's classy. Can break through the lines very well and his ability to lay a tackle is superb. His ball use is pretty good as he can use both feet to a decent level.
His downside is he's a wirey build (offset by his toughness). He's also prone to losing the plot occasionally due to playing with such intensity.
Pretty much hasn't played a game all season for us so make of that what you will.
Really Dislike the players voting for the bottom 3 every week. Some could do it to eliminate who they think is the most dangerous (strategic voting) and therefore the winner may not actually be the 'best' contender on the show. Vossy and Dixon should choose the weakest 3 every week and then decide who gets delisted. If Waylen didn't quit the challenge he would still be there. Cisco was never going to make it and Vossy said that Lucy is fat. Waste of time those two being on the show.

I think if you put an AFL squad out on a 4km paddle board session you would get more than 1 or 2 pull out. More like ten. Even very successful players.
Yeah, Waylen was reluctant but it probably is not an indicator of AFL success. Would you take Padraig over Waylen? I wouldn't.
I heard somewhere it is similar to the father-son process where clubs bid certain draft picks for the player, with the club who is prepared to the pay the most getting the player.Does anyone know how this draft night thing is going to work?
You can change attitude in the right environment perhaps I'm willing to take a punt. What you can't change is athletic ability.... and he has that in spades. He comes across is a really good kid and that encourages you to want to give him a go.Why would an AFL club take him? Worst and weakest attitude I've ever seen from a footballer. I've seen fat old drunks and the lowest levels of suburban footy have more heart and go than him.
Semmell has a few tickets on himself, how arrogant can 1 person be.
Could be trying to get rid of competition also? Both play mid and are hard at it.Waylan obviously must be a pretty good bloke and can obviously play given the guy's reactions and comments when he left.
He just isn't mentally tough enough, from what the show portrays anyway.
Was very surprised Moreland wanted to trade Waylan for Jackal though. Jackal seems pretty well liked and always seems to go pretty well in the games, maybe there is a little dislike there or something?

For anyone interested the Wikipedia article on the show ahs their most recent clubs listed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Recruit_(TV_series)
Obviously the criteria of a "senior state league" must limit it to SANFL, VFL and WAFL as Bradie and Hutchy play NEAFL, Tyrone won the Sydney AFL best and fairest, and DJ is/was with South Launceston, who only recently left the TSL.
Unless they had an injury or something very, very few players at AFL level would have given up.I think if you put an AFL squad out on a 4km paddle board session you would get more than 1 or 2 pull out. More like ten. Even very successful players.
I think Moreland included Jackal because he probably knew that Voss wasn't going to delist him when compared to the International recruits.
I think pretty much all of the pure footballers on the show want the international recruits gone.
Jackel is a gun. The guy plays like a maniac. His skills are not even that bad.. Even though Jackel is way better than Padraig I think you may be rightpretty sure Voss would have sent Jackal home if he was up against Padraig, Jackal is not getting on a list with his skills and age.
Anyone notice that they ****ed up the editing again after that tackling stuff? While it seemed like a bit of a giveaway that Moreland had won the tackle challenge, given they went to a break with something like 'Moreland unleashes his inner animal', after they came back, he was wearing the armband then they cut away to Ryan Fitzgerald beginning the announcement - no armband - then he announces it and he gets the armband. I hardly ever notice those continuity things in movies and stuff and that stood out like dog's balls. Couldn't get much more amateurish.
And yeah, they need to cut back on the wildcard/team bonding challenges...they should be about 15-20% of the show at most. Felt like they could have left a lot of that on the cutting room floor. Not really sure what the point was of the trip to Crown Casino was either.
