I didn't watch the show much but I watched the final tonight and really enjoyed it. Well done to the lad and it would be great to see him succeed..tough team to break into though, he's got his work cut out.

I dont think too many top line sporting leagues around the world (NFL, NBA, EPL) would have contests like this

For Ess fans perspective it's pretty much the same as when we got Johnny Rayner last year, except there wasn't a TV show attached to it all.

I honestly reckon there are plenty of local footballers around that would be good enough to play some sort of role in the AFL. The problem is the 'reality tv show' bit. How many of those good enough would actually take half a season off to try out for something that only has one winner anyway? Far better off just doing a preseason with a VFL club if you want to have a serious crack .
