I would think had it not been Wagner, more clubs would have put their hand up to draft him. Clear from the outset that Johann was going to Port so teams didn't bother pitching their club.

I personally thought GWS seemed like the better option. Would possibly be best 22, and personal mentoring from Sheedy vs potentially playing SANFL most of the year.

Bradie should've won. Johann was obviously the more talented player, however Bradie has legitimate potential to player senior AFL football.

204cm ruckman with his athletic ability are very rare, forward/midfielders with Johann's height and athletic ability are all around Australia. I hope i'm wrong, however I can see Johann getting delisted in two years time with no senior matches to his name. It would take a horrific run with injury at Port or ridiculous improvement from Johann to see him break into their team in the forward/midfielder position. I wish him good luck, he seems like a great guy and deserves success.

I think you're spot on. Yoey was a cert to win and it was common knowledge he wanted to got to Port so why would other clubs even bother.

As for the show... could they draw it out any more than they did with boring crap. Thank god I recorded it and sped through all the boring parts.

Would say a fair bit about the quality of the AFL if this guy amounted to anything

I dont think too many top line sporting leagues around the world (NFL, NBA, EPL) would have contests like this
Best of luck to him though

Too many people complaining we're becoming too American in terms of sporting; free agency sound after goal etc etc. Think this is our attempt to separate ourselves from those sporting organisation and to become a bit innovative.

Question, can the other guys still get picked up by other clubs and if yes how would this work?

I wouldn't choose GWS either tbh. Has more chance of having a long term career with an established club than one of the expansion teams. The guy just followed his dream. If he's good enough he'll still get a game.

It would have all been determined pre-show. If Wagner wins, which clubs want him, get the chance to talk to him, who does he choose. If Foster wins, which clubs want him, who does he choose. The live stuff was just for show.
Three looked like a convenient number of clubs to want him. You wouldn't want to see 10 clubs pitching to him from a TV point of view. One would leave no drama, so three would be about right.

They can still nominate for the draft this year, and would most likely be picked in the rookie draft.

There's already rumours floating that Waylen may be going to Collingwood, Padraigh (?) has already signed as an International rookie at Geelong, and Morlo is talking to several clubs too. I'm told the Cats, Carlton, and Richmond are interested in Morlo.

He's probably got a snowballs chance in hell of breaking into this Port side but if he was my son or brother or best mate I'd still be pretty stoked for him for winning the show. He'll do ok out of it.

Looks like they were pretty quick to hide their tracks.... I've seen your image circulating around Facebook already pretty heavily, good pick up

Port have a bevy of small forwards so Yoey at 190cm looks to be a great fit for them, if he's good enough.

Was clear Burgo ****in loves him so that helps and we know Kochie loves a fairy tale so he was odds on to go to Port. Good on him. The bloke gets to live out a dream and work in an AFL environment full time.

Would love to see him do well and become an established AFL player and see this show continue to succeed regardless of what the cynics have to say. There's a shit load of potential AFL players out there who have been held back or missed out for one reason or another. This show just adds a different dimension.

Does anyone else not find it laughable that an amateur/s from a reality tv show is seriously being looked at to play at the elite level in the country?

Turn it up.

Every player drafted into the AFL is an amateur.
