The redfaced pissheads' A-League betting thread

The pay must be very low maybe minimum wage"

I did a bit of research if I stand to be corrected outside of the marquee players in the league the average salary works out to be around $139k-$160k per year for this season. That could be a big reason why the standard is lower compared to alot of the leagues.

nearly a million bucks bet on Melbourne City v Wanderers on Betfair exchange. With whole of Europe and most of Asia cancelling games, the worlds attention is on the A-League.
Konyaspor-Fenerbahce went off the chain last night with $2.5mil+ traded in the match odds market with another $2.5mil in various goal markets.

to be fair to them, the A-League is a better quality than the English fourth division. the issue in Australia is how poor the finishing and first touch is. i went to Glory - Wellington the other week and Steven Taylor really stood out, the way he controlled the ball was just second nature. most players here love a dumb ugly switch while some journeyman moron spills it out...

it's pretty similar to the Swedish Allsvenskan tbh, both sort of attacking leagues. lower English stuff is brutally ******* boring and low skilled.

the reason it's 'good' to bet on the A-League is because you can always be assured of a couple of goals and plenty of corners. mostly just because the defences are so prone to disorganisation and lapses and goalkeepers are all the same here; one-dimensional idiots.

Don't really know how these teams will go but Newcastle need to win all remaining matches to keep their playoff chances alive.

Newcastle probably need at least 10 points out of a possible 12 to be in finals contention. 4 wins out of 4 wins would probably get them there.

Their H2H history with Sydney, along with alot of A-League teams is also quite poor.
