Be careful what you wish for. Dennis coming back would be because none of the Victorian based commentators will be allowed into WA.
Whilst Dennis coming back may be good, we will also be getting *******s like Karl Langdon and Mark Readings.

The lengthening of the kick to be a mark is the dumbest suggestion ever. The existing 15 metres is the reason that zone defence is now achievable. An increase to 20 will make the game more congested and more down the line kicking.
If you want the game to go back to man on man all over the field change the rule back to ensure it happens.
I can't believe how short sighted so many are.

Also let's remove interpretation rules. No more ruck infringements. There isn't an ump in the league that's likely to have competed in a ruck contest. Just leave them to battle it out. 'Blocking is part of rucking, unless the contact is high let it go.
And finally, no more deliberate out of bounds interpretation rule. Make it deliberate if the ball goes out directly from a correct dosposal (kick or handball). If punched out, dribbles out, paddled out it should be fine unless blatant.
When a player kicks for goal and misses the balls bounced out its deliberate every time. To kick a goal a players intention is to deliberately kick the ball across the boundary line, yet never go punished.

Oh god. I did not need to be reminded of the thought of Basil coming back.

It is a bit like an accomplished actress from Britain getting a nothing supportive mother role in an MCU film to put the grand kid through college. Might be a talent, but modern C7 won't give you the freedom to be creative.

Y'know I was thinking the exact same thing. Word for word.

Dennis is a good caller of the game, but I reckon he prostituted himself at 7 by letting them mould him into something different of their making.

We don't want another Alan McGillvray type retirement.

Absolutely spot on. Great commentator but in the end even he couldn’t escape the jokey mates act that infests C7 televised games.
