He played a permanent forward for about 35 minutes total game time was emergency for the 1s so they would have wanted him fresh just in caseI didn't see the match so have no idea. In the stats for HO I can see Fort had 37, then the other team A.Kuol Man had 24, T Hofert 20, J.Miller 4, then our boy T.Gallop and Darcy Gardner even had 1. Henry Smith had just the 1 HO, 6 disposals total, 3 kicks, 3 handballs to be the very last player on the list.
Was he the medical sub or was he just pushed out that much?

Wait till you learn what they have in store for our ruckman/ruckmen.Heavy rain forecast.
Why do we always have to play Geelong in the slop.
I didn't see the whole game but I saw Gallop go into the ruck but not Smith. He played a permanent forward for about 35 minutes total game time was emergency for the 1s so they would have wanted him fresh just in case

How did Gallop go in the ruck? If he shows promise there, could he do a Morris and debut midseason and never then be left out again?
Even if he went great, he is still a kid and you are playing with injury fire by playing kids in the ruck - even if it's for 20% of the game.
Hopefully we get a reversal of Alfred and that storm hits Brisbane early. The humidity would still be about 6000%, but better than playing on a lake.

At least the AFL scheduled this as a night game, though why it’s head-to-head with GWS-Hawthorn is beyond me. Still we should be thankful - the Sunday midday slot is open. Can only assume they were taking care of Geelong on that one by not giving them a 5-day break to their round-4 Friday night game.
If it goes badly, it just shows the importance of picking up 8 points from the first 2 weeks - particularly considering we do appear to be a bit slow out of the blocks again (understandable for teams that go deep into finals).
I was thinking the same, but 1-week at a time!I was hoping to be 3 and 1 after the first four rounds, so barring a disaster against Richmond this week feels like a bit of a free hit.

Im not massive on chopping and changing 1 game in and then straight out.Heart says Fort in Day out
Head says Fort in Day out
But I think Day does deserve a few more matches to show his stuff. He looked short of a run to me, though maybe that's how he always looks? We know Fort can ruck and roll forward so he's a known quantity. I am somewhat concerned about how fast the BIG O comes up, whether we need to rest him, or has setbacks. We know Fort can fill the breach but, in that case, we will still need a forward who can chop out in the ruck and Day certainly has the body to do that. No point in throwing young bodies into the most punishing position on the ground this early, let them knock the door down as they say.
Fort in for Day is my suggestion.Sacrifice a small for 2 talls?

Ruck dominance can have a greater effect in very wet games. If it’s wet I would want Oscar and Fort to play.
