Give him a bit of a chance, he just lost his Father and is learning a new system, he will take a bit more than 1 game to fit in and feel more confident.
He could have had 2 shots for goal playing on McGovern and also helping out in the Ruck.

He played last week and was poor Fort would have been better for ruck/fwd duties especially in the wet when Day can’t even take a mark on a dry day

Fagan has shown, at times to his detriment among fans, that he will stick with his “big calls” on players. It’s part of his psychological makeup and it partly explains why he is a great coach. It is a fine line, but as soon as I heard Fagan in the presser giving Day a rap after the West Coast game for apparently keeping McGovern quiet (only 3 marks), I knew he would be selected. After all these years you just know that Fagan will give Day every opportunity to make Full Forward his own. Good luck to him too. I hope Day has a great game. I suppose the anxiety is that we end up with another Gunston situation, but that can be avoided if Day can kick some goals. It’s a big test for him, but let’s hope he passes with flying colours.

In other news, how great is it to get Lohmann and Cameron back!!
