The Reverse Coleman

Its all well to beat up on Firrito and Gibson, but who else have the Kangas got? Shannon Watt isn't good enough and the only name I can think of in the ressies is Lachlan Hansen, and he hasn't got a game this year.

The list doesn't even make much sense. Some are full backs who are more likely to have goals kicked against them. Paddy Ryder players mostly at CHB.

Personally, considering the players Brown has played on, I think Brown has doen a terrific job. Forwards are going to kick goals and full forwards generally kick most of them.

is a complete nonsense in today's football.

Glass took Lloyd on for a bit of last saturday's game and didn't concede a goal - did that mean he outplayed him - absolutley not - lloyd just played up the ground.

you could also say that a player conceding 4 goals had a win - if he won all of the one-on-one contests but concedes a few by running off his man to close down someone running into goal and handballing over the top

10 years ago when you have stay at home fullforwards the reverse coleman would have mean something

Well then really the Reverse Coleman only means as much as the Coleman Medal for the same reasons you have mentioned.

The Reverse Coleman doesn't show stats for helping out a teamate (defensive assist) the same as the Coleman doesn't show scoring assists. It is merely a stat and how much relevence you guys place on it is up to you, but it is the Reverse Coleman which really follows the same rules as the Coleman, except backwards.

No Hawks on there?

Considering our backline is supposed to be our weakest link?

A backline that has leaked the fourth lowest amount all year?

Hmmmmm.
Those two statements can both be true, Hawthorn do have one of the best defensive midfield pressure (the zone) so the fact you have not conceded points doesn't mean it is all your backline.

Buddy kicked 8 of his 9 goals on Ryder. That doesn't help his average.

Pretty much sums up why Glass has been AA the last 2 years. Which isn't right.

Its nonsense.. i love it when a FF is played a bit more up the ground (such as Pav) and people use that to say "he was getting killed in attack so he had to chase kicks up the ground!" its just a nonsense.
agree

I also glad 10 stopped using that gone cold rubbish - they use it on a key forward when it was in the oppostions foward line for 15-20 min.

That driver me insance

Glass & Lake are near the top of the list for spoils, and both take the best opposition backman, and both have been playing (in Lake's case, until recently) without a real CHB. Scarlett without Egan playing also desreve praise.

I'd love to see if anyone had any meaningful stats on the very best defenders, anywhere I can find them?

Be interested to see how Luke McPharlin is going, he is having a very good season, kept Brown to a point and 4 disposals when he moved to him for the 2nd half last week and kept Fevola to a goal, he is gathered it a fair bit himself.

Neither does:
Firrito
Merrett
Thursfield
Carroll

Nor has Glass been taking the best forward every week either. :thumbsu:
