As I have previously stated, I hope they release the scope with the key findings. Also review should have started 2 months ago.
We were a fantastic club 2 months ago. Destined to play finals :p

What do we actually do if Dunstall (for some reason) reckons Burton is a good operator? We’d be doomed for 10 years.
Dunstall isn't stupid!

On the positive side, Roo has been very passionate in his desire to see change at the club. He is the only person giving me hope that the recommendations will be implemented, even if they involve sacking members of the boys club. Roo, unlike many others in the echo chamber, does seem to have the determination to do what is best for the club ahead of what is best for his mates.
Ehh I think this is the easy way out for Roo

'Listen Brett , I tried , I really did , I was in there defending you but bugger me they say you gotta go , but dont worry buddy we will look after you - what do you know about eSports''

Yes Roo is passionate but he is also blind to many of the issues inside the 4 walls. Or he chooses to ignore them.

My moneys on the bolded part. Many people do this when it suits even if not consciously aware. It would be particularly hard not to do this with a mate. It seems that Roo genuinely can’t see how his conflict might play out by hiring mates.

So I have zero faith in this review after the whispers I’ve heard about how Burton is approaching this review.

1. Jonah Oliver and Tim Gabbett have both been on the clubs payroll over the last year.
2. Dunstall is Roo’s mate, and would never put his mates career in jeopardy.
3. Burton had a meeting with crows officials last week and said “no ones job is at risk, we will have all the findings and it’s up to us what we want to release.” (Shortened and simplified)
This is all a PR exercise with one goal and that is self preservation of the key personnel.

The only reason they decided to do an external review was due to the PR backlash from Roo’s comments last week, this is just for them to save face and keep our membership numbers at a healthy number. They have NO interest in changing the way they operate because it’s financially successful. Obviously they still want to win, but will not risk jobs and profits to do it.

He'd have to be very careful about what he says in public, using his "media hats". The outcomes of the review will not be made public, and the findings would be confidential. It would be extremely unprofessional for him to discuss details of the findings in public, though he can probably talk about generalities.
I think he would be professional enough not to go into specifics but if the review fails and he recommended changes that they ignore he will call them out. He wont want his name attached to a cluster ****.

Jesus, that sounds bad...

Is someone able to dig in and confirm the bold?

The only reason there even is an external review is because of fan disgruntlement/media pressure - only seemed to be a way to pacify both.

Surely independent contractors should be conducting this review and all non-board member staff of the footy club should be questioned of their current duties/performances at the club including Burton.

Most decent and competent and self aware people at a footy club and or company would be willing to put their hand up and submit to to an evaluation when things go sour or at least admit and own up that they have not being doing a good job.

Club Great Andy McKay moved on from his role as football GM at Carlton cause he realized he hasn't doing the job required or needed from him.

If what this above post is actually true Brett Burton is both extremely arrogant and selfish, and has no genuine interest in seeing the club he gave good service as a player, become successful and win another flag anytime soon (or least that is how it seems as an outsider from Afar)

I actually (naively) assumed people like Burton would be also be put under the griller in this review.

I’ll eat my hat, and everyone else’s free membership hats next year if burton, or anyone of real significance gets sacked.

And regarding the two specialists, all I know is they’ve done consulting with the club this year already. That’s why they were so quick to be announced with the review. I hate being speculative and being a “trust me I have sauce” guy. But this BS made me so angry, and yet unsurprised about how its been handled I thought I better share it on here so you guys can share my anger with me.

I hope they get 25k to games next year. Supporters need to hit them the only place they care about.

If you know this to be fact, it should spread it around so the media pick it up, absolute sham

This is all heading towards all the blame being heaped on Pyke while Burton, Campo, Roo, Hart and Chapman skip off clean.

Not the way I read it. A player isnt happy with how the exit interview questions are framed (prob set up by Burton) and has leaked this to Tom Morris.

Morris is directly putting the heat on whoever frames the questions about Pyke. I listened to the Tom Morris grab and he later identifies Burton and Campo as the ones under the most pressure.

It doesn't matter if Tom Morris puts heat on the club, it doesn't matter what the players think, they've directly showed their hand now of what they want the manufactured outcome to be on this review.

The problem isn't that they're selfish and are only thinking about themselves, it's the exact opposite. The problem is they think they're the ONLY ones who care and are capable of leading the Adelaide Crows. Their former service as players makes them believe that no one else is capable of loving the club as much as them and therefore no one else could do as good of a job as them. This is why guys like Roo have gotten their noses so out of joint about fans complaints. It's why they refuse to listen to outside noise, it's why Trigg had the same issues, calling anyone who would question the job he's doing was nothing but an "agitator", the only reason you'd think they're doing a bad job is if you'd want to hurt the club.
