The rise of fascism

The funny thing is that the O/P is correct in their analysis about the rise of Fascism.....Too bad he's all over the shoppe as to whom it's actual leading proponents are though.

The U.S & the West....In their continued illegal & unconstitutional invasion, bombing & destruction of independent Democratic Muslim countries.

The U.S & Britain alone have been responsible for the implementation of most Fascist dictatorships upon a people, around the globe & throughout history, in the name of Colonialism & Empire building; & that's not changing anytime soon.

It was U.S & European financial houses, & big business concerns who bank-rolled the NAZI regime itself, from out of the ashes, in order to get it to do their dirty work for them, in taking out Communist Russia....They failed.

Fascism has always been the favoured political tool of the corporate & Oligarchical elite by which to hide behind in achieving their nefarious ends & goals.

Conservatives love to bemoan a failing education system, young men giving Nazi salutes in the street is emblematic of that, give me clueless Arts graduates over men in the street thinking that sort of thing is acceptable any day of the week.

John H is a propagandist spreading lies without then engaging in discussion. Something I thought would be frowned upon on a discussion forum.

Well yeah....It's clearly an alias & a sanctioned one at that, as most of us have worked out already.

While it's unsurprising that Trump would welcome meeting his role model Vlad in a country with a fascist Putin-backed government, maybe a grown-up could explain things to him with flashcards?

The reason why Russia is so invested in Austria’s far-right shift

Austria’s far-right government is dividing Europe, and the Kremlin is loving it.

Got anything in there about the U.S enforced coup, that brought about the current fascist government in the Ukraine by any chance?

The most striking parallel with the rise of fascism is Trump’s delegitimising of international institutions and agreements. Hitler and Mussolini both did the same when they were unable to use the League of Nations to further their totalitarian agendas. Trumps strategy appears aimed at augmenting Americas waning economic and military power by ripping up multilateral arrangements with a view to forcing individual nations to deal one on one with the US, which of course advantages the US over all other global actors.

The contemporary rise of Fascism in Western European countries, has more to do with a reaction against the E.U both bleeding them dry economically & eviscerating their nation state Autonomy.

Why are you worried about that? They've been carrying out wars of aggression and invasions every since ww2!
Literally Hitler:drunk:

It obviously represents a new phase in relations with allied powers like Australia. Whereas before both parties were nominally equals as allies, Trump seems bent on turning other states into open clients of the US.

Nominally is the key word here, it's pretty clear we were never equals. I will admit, trump is wrecking the status quo of relations with allies, but it seems like the feeling among the ruling western elite is that "he'll be gone soon and it will be business as usual as soon as one of us if back in charge" . It's them who are the real fascists, and they have always been. They imported nazi psychological scientists and carried on their mind control program through the media ever since ww2, you are most likely so thoroughly brainwashed you can't see the forest for the trees. They will never stop trying to gain greater power until the whole world is controlled by a single governing body.

Like the Human Rights Commission?

A group containing the worst offending countries in the world who spend all their time attacking 1st world countries?

The world becomes a better place when groups like that have their legitimacy questioned.

It will happen here with the Liberals. The far right took over the US Republicans, and there's far right parties in the Italian and Austrian governments. The nutters are inspired. Once Turnbull's gone and they're in opposition they will strengthen their takeover of the party apparatus. 2-3 terms later, when Labor's developed enough baggage to lose, Australia will have a truly hideous Prime Minister.

Global warming will make the refugee crisis worse in 2028 than now. It will be a cruel joke that a party full of climate science denialists will benefit most from it happening. There will be a lot of stupid and/or callous voters ready to gobble up a hard right turn like chocolate. Those who should know better - the Scotland types - will decide "**** it" and go along with it because they hate lefties and unions too much.
Do Austrian and Italian politics traditionally have any parallels with Australian politics?
