Ok this thread is for all the people who have nothing to do before each game.

Having the name Rocco Jones in the thread title and me being Rocco Jones is a pure coincidence.

The sun rose over a Broadmeadows house this morning.

Sound alseep in his bed, the soothing sound of classical music from a radio station somewhere near 106 on the dial can be heard.

The young man awakens. This is the day he has been waiting for since September 2002.

He has already, the night before, taken out his clothes. A red white and blue jumper, his shorts, he shoes. They all sit, waiting for this morning.

A quick look around his room would leave no doubt his allegences. A Doug & EJ picture, A Chris Grant picture, his Paul Dimattina jumper, a bulldog picture, and his Bulldog alarm clock.

More excited than a child at Christmas. Trudging out of bed, he makes his way to the kitchen for some breakfast. Noticing nothing in the fridge, he forgoes this idea and heads to the lounge where the paper is waiting.

He checks the team, and has a little smile to himself when he sees the names on the bench. "Today, will be a great day" He says to himself.

(at this point, he actually makes his way to the computer to post on BigFooty, but as that is not a particularly exciting way to finish the story, i will not prempt the rest!!)

He rises from the chair, and takes a nice hot shower, and gets dressed. He has a shave, and makes his way to the car. On his steering wheel, he has placed his new beanie. Season 2003 beanie!!

In the car next to him, his father sits. Having seen too many seasons to get excited about a new one, he is stoney faced. The young man secretly knows that his father is excited, but he doesn't lead on.

The car speeds away, making a stop or two to pick up a few friends.

We make it to the ground.

Walking in, the smell of food heating up and freshly cut grass greats them. Football, is finally here for the Western Bulldogs.

They pass a bar, grab a scotch and coke, and sit at their seats. A toast is proposed for the new season, and they wait, patiently, for the ball to be bounced...

Addy and Daddy went to play Auskick with the Carlton footy club outside the SCG.

First marking attempt Addy cops a heavy fast ball in the face. The knock stuns him a bit. He longer wants to play and wants to go home. Brendon Fevola comes over and plays kick to kick with him and gets him back into it.

Yep great to have the footy back.

Ouch! Poor kid.

I went to the gym, had a lite latte, a perve at the waitress, and them home to get the wagon rolling for the game. Get the cheezels, BBQ shapes, coffee, Sunday papers and radio.

Hell, its great to have the footy back!

Watching the Game from Brissy

Well it 2:00 and i actually left work 10 minutes early so i could be home for this game, Im wearing my bulldogs hat, my bulldogs shirt, and thinking about putting on my Bulldogs boxer shorts, sitting in front of the computer with the WEb site open wityh my bulldogs footy, and with my Bulldogs Coca-cola bear on top of the tv (next to the Geelong coca-cola bear) which is sadly and stupidly showing the Adelaide and Fremantle Game :( waiting patiently for the game to begin. How i wish i was in Melbourne.

To make it even more interesting my mother is a Geelong supporter of about 45 years. Bring on the footy...... GO DOGGIES

The Cats supporter and I hastily completed our usual Saturday chores, taking time out for a leisurely stroll on glorious Palm Beach before heading home for lunch, prior to tuning in to Fox Footy Extra at 2pm.

Before long it became apparent that one of us was destined for disappointment ... and it wasn't me. :D

The victory was tainted by the injury to our beloved Leader, as well as a nasty incident that resulted in Darcy coming off streaming blood and becoming involved in an altercation with Ben Graham on the boundary line.

The Cats supporter has made dark allegations against Darcy and his possible involvement in the downing of Joel Corey, creating a stony atmosphere over dinner.

Tipping after Round 1 sees the Cats supporter a game behind, a scenario that has not occurred for some seasons. :D
