He's completely dropped off the face of the earth IIRC. I actually liked him too, up until that whole mop storyline.
i may have just lost control of my bladder watching that!!

how much is a pay per view these days?
If it's anything like UFC, should be around $30-40.

I don't love the Rock, as he wasn't ever a heel long enough for me to appreciate him truly, (I did really enjoy his partnership with Mick Foley) but I appreciate what he is. If he feuds with Cena here, he could easily become my favourite.

There was Nation of Domination, which I dont really know about, Corporate Rock was a massive heel run before my time but it's worth checking out on youtube. He had massive heat, then there was Hollywood Rock in his last run which, for mine, was immense. The perfect heel turn.

He got shot trying to save a woman from an assault/mugging/rape/theft/something. Hit one his nerves and decided enough was enough.

Power King said:
Is it just me or does Mankind get underrated? Always seems to be in the shadow of rock and stone cold, but Mankind made things interesting and as a wrestler he was ****ing insane (pun intended).

He is. I only started seriously watching wrestling when he was commissioner and completely missed his work before that. But as commissioner he was all sorts of awesome.

There's been recent photos of him on the Internet at family gatherings. He looks the same, just fatter. The mop storyline ruined him. He was one of the most entertaining wrestlers in WCW during 1998-1999, even if he was garbage on the mic.

Regular WWE pay-per-views are $29.95, but WrestleMania is usually $34.95, because it's a 4 hour show.

I know this is a Rocky thread, but this is jizz-worthy:

JR's commentary just made you believe, made you buy into, wrestling and made it sooo much better.

Massive lolling at Triple H has screwed Stone Cold out of the WWF BY GAWD TITLE.

Those were the days.

If anything it would have been even better if JR and the King were at ringside for the Rock's return today. Michael Cole is doing a good job at the moment though.

Finally WWE is worth watching again.

I completely destroyed myself once thanks to the Rock.

I was taking a nap on my couch, woke up and discovered I had kicked a couch pillow onto the floor. The pillow was just laying there looking innocent, and if you're on this appreciation thread and picturing this scene, you're probably aware that the pillow was begging for some People's Elbow. I launched into this classic, nay iconic finishing move and...MISSED the ****ing pillow, driving the hard edge of my elbow into the unyielding wood floor. Complete destruction. It still aches on cold rainy days.

Whoever says wrestling is fake has never mis-landed a People's Elbow.

Peace,

Underrated post :thumbsu:

The funny part isn't him hurting himself, it's finding the inspiration to give the People's Elbow to a pillow. lol.

My dog is asleep in the middle of my room. Maybe I should give it a go.

Here's a recent(ish) interview with him. After he got shot he hit the drugs pretty hard apparently and was homeless. Looking pretty good now.

Ok, I was indifferent before, but actually watching the footage (I hadn't seen it when I commented previously) put a big smile on my face (after a bit of an average day) and I nostalgia'ed hard. Made me of being 12 years old again :D:thumbsu:

All I know is, whatever Vince paid Rocky to show up was really bloody cheap as all my mates (who havent followed wrestling for years) wont shut up about it.

I've got mates who jumped off the wagon in 2002 (conveniently around the time Rock left) posting Rock videos on each others' Facebook walls. This is insanity!

I think a lot jumped off around then. Main reason for me was we stopped getting Foxtel and didn't get it back again until late 2005? Tried to get back into it but I couldn't. While I understand the need for the PG, the stuff they got rid of was a big part of the entertainment for me. That's what made it different.

I stopped just after Eddie Guerrero's death I think. I've been trying to do some research about what's been going on in the WWE in the last year or so, all these new wrestlers seem so boring.

i have treied as well but the new characters and their storylines just don't interest me as much. They're weaker than those when the rock, stone cold, mankind were there as well as the tag teams of the hardy boys and 3D.
The storylines are predictable because every time someone comes down and interrupts matches - full matches are as rare as hens teeth and they jibber too much as well - not just the trash talk, they're always banging on about some shit rather than wrestling because they're good at talk and shizenhousen at wrasslin'.

Inb4 Rock ends up on side with Cena (like Mike Tyson did with Austin vs Michaels at WM 14 I think) when Cena wins title from Miz at WM after Cena wins a pox elimination chamber match next week.

I stopped watching shortly after Benoit's death. That was other big exodus of fans. A heap stopped after Rock and Austin were gone and then a whole bunch turned their back because they didn't want to be apart of 1) the product that would come to be as a result of Benoit's death (PG era) and 2) an industry filled with painkillers and various other drugs.
