Prediction The 'Rookie Games Played' Game

Was it only the 2 draftees from last year to debut in Fish and Schoenberg? Would think Worrell, O’Connor, Hinge and Hately would be closer than a few of 2020 drafties so could be hard.
Having said that,
R.1 - 1 Rowe
R.6 - 2 Thilthorpe
R.12 3 Pedlar
R.18 -
Season end total = 3

Pedlar1120
Cook2520
Berry2820
Rowe3820
NewchurchBR20
BorlaseBR20

Every top pick from those drafts has played R1 following year.
Murphy was an outlier, pick 38 in rookie draft played R1 following year.
Schoenberg (pick 24) was the only other draftee to play the following year, debut in R10.
The rest of the 17/18 crop debuted in 2020.
Those 21 players plus McAdam, Frampton, Keays and Hately (25 in total) make up more than half our list.
By my count, only 5 players from the 26 players drafted in that period are no longer on our list. Of them, only CEY is at another club, the rest didn't make the cut.

Rowe was pick 38 in the ND, Murphy was pick 38 in the RD. It's the lucky number for a R1 debut!

Thanks for the data mate. Good stuff

Including the 2019 crop who have yet to debut.

R1: 3 (Rowe, Thilthorpe, Gollant*)
R6: 4 (+ Berry)
R12: 6 (+ O'Connor#, Borlase#)
R18: 8 (+ Cook, Pedlar).

*A puff piece in early-to-mid January, and he also attracted attention last year for an outstanding pre-season. It seems like his stocks are continuously rising at the club.

# I reckon these two will get a gig due to injuries at some point, though both do seem like odd men out at the moment.

Thanks, Just letting you know the Gollant and O'Conner selections wont count in your selections. But I don't have a problem with you putting them in there for fun.

1: 1 (Rowe)
6: 2 (Rowe, Thilthorpe)
12: 3 (Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry)
18: 4 (Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry, Pedlar)
End: 4 (Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry, Pedlar)

Barring injury, I think Rowe is a lock for the Stengle sized hole as small forward to start the season. Walker will start the year, but Thilthorpe should be given a couple of games early shortly after.

We don't have many untried mids that won't be in the round 1 side, so any run of injuries (which we should get by mid-season) will give Pedlar or Berry a debut. I've gone Berry over Pedlar due to the latter's reduced pre-season (groins), but would otherwise have the Pedlar in before Berry. Cook is a sneaky chance for a game late after a reduced pre-season (shoulder), but someone selected above (or Cook) will have a set-back that costs them their chance, so Cook's non-selection is my insurance.

If Gollant or O'Connor get a game (no visibility on how they are going), it might delay Berry or Pedlar. Worrell should get a run at some point in the first half of the season, but don't think this affects the new recruits.
Adding Hinge as a round 1 debutant
1: 2 (Hinge, Rowe)
6: 3 (Hinge, Rowe, Thilthorpe)
12: 4 (Hinge, Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry)
18: 5 (Hinge, Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry, Pedlar)
End: 5 (Hinge, Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry, Pedlar)

End: 5 (Hinge, Rowe, Thilthorpe, Berry, Pedlar)
and by Hinge, I of course meant Murray . . . 1615773178516.png

So far only you and me have called 2 for R1...

By my count 2 is the magic number, unless there is a late call up from outside the named emergencies.

Betts are Off,
Wee Blake
Big Dub (called for 2 including Hinge but meant Murray so I guess OK)
Golumless (called for 3 including Gollant, who doesn't count, so I guess that is 2)
and myself the only ones left?

R6 calls
Betts are Off - 2
Wee Blake - 2
Big Dub - 3
Golumless - 3
Me - 2

Not looking good I think for the 2 callers. TT and Murray should be pushing by R6.

Rowe was the no brainer. Hately not being ready to go and a few injuries (Crouch, Talia, Milera) have opened up a spot for Berry.
