After initially seeming to delist 5 rookies and promoting one, we actually kept 2 and redrafted 2. Only Aisake has gone from our rookie list.

Aisake was senior listed. We retained them all in the end.

Yes, we tried to get approval to have Cain Ackland listed as a mature age rookie but sadly it didn't happen.

I dont know about you guys, but I'm pretty happy with the way the club has gone about all 3 drafts.

Its hard isnt it? I can't see how he would get a game without either Kreuzer or Warnock going down. Even then we still have Cloke. Its going to be tough for the big fella.

I agree. would rather have a go at some complete random tall forward who has barely shown anything instead of getting bentley.

the kid would at least have some chance, no matter how slight, of turning out good enough to play for us. we just dont need bentley. he is shit, he has proven he is shit, plays in a position we dont need, and will be miles behind in our pecking order.

bentley = complete waste of list space IMHO. would have rather gone completely speculative on some random tall. its not as if bentley has some hidden upside, we've seen what he can do - nothing

I'm a little disappointed that we redrafted players that we delisted from our rookie list. Why did we not give other players a go? I'm not a recruiting manager or anything but just interested as to why we kept someone like Lachie Hill when we could have drafted Charlie Sharples? Obviously the recruiters know more then me. Has Hill shown anything to suggest that he will improve and push for a spot on our main list?

Is Bentick and Pfeiffer are ordinary big mids and mud runners, why pick Bently?

Stanton is another project like Lachie Hill and will play for our twos IMO.

Also, given his athleticism im guessing they want to use him and Stanton as Walker type players - given their size and atheltic abillity.

... but do they have the skills ?!?!

Good to see Jacobs given more time. Worked hard and progressed enough for it.

Happy with the other selections but know nothing about Bentley. Like others say, a key forward would have been nice if obviously speculative.

BTW, Zak Tuhoy is still too young to draft from what I know.

Not really sold on these picks. Stanton and Bentley seem too limited to play the run and carry, precise game we're looking to play.

Not sure about the Stanton pick TBH, i know it's a rookie pick and they are normally projects but if we were putting emphasis on kicking and disposal this year, Luke should have been the last person we picked.

Anyway, really like the Garlett pick, we added more pass and another knowledgeable player around goal. Not only that but he played at Swan Districts with Yarran so the transition for both should be much more smooth.

From watching Hill prior to as well as after he was drafted, IMO Hill is not good enough. Having said this Carlton have rookied him twice now and know what Carlton need and what it takes for a player to make it more so then I so i will try and shed some light on him.

- Straight away you notice he is not hard at the ball, at all. Is an outside reciever who could seriously not go in and get it if his life depended on it.

- He has a pretty damaging and long left foot. His skills on this side of the body are great but it's his lack of an opposite (particularly in traffic) that are questionable, very questionable.

- His athleticism as you have pointed out is fantastic, tall enough, good pace, jumps high etc.

Meh, know next to nothing about any of the guys bar our own. Always extremely slim pickings come the rookie draft anyway, so we'll see how the boys develop over the next year or two. We've had decent luck with rookies in the past.

As for Liam Pickerings claims I dont doubt you but lets see what eventuates. he is not part of our club and this has yet to be officially finalised.

I am not saying Bentley is better or worse now.......but may have more development in him and may be the better player in 2 years time.

The club obviously saw something in him they liked enough to give him a rookie spot.

And they did use an earlier pick to secure Bentley than they did to re-draft Pfieffer so maybe he was a higher rated player on our wish list.
