He knows full well what the long term GWS strategy is. He's writing that article purely for the benefit of the western sydney sporting public who don't know what it is, and trying to preach to them about the abject failure that will become the GWS, and convince them it's not worth their time to go and have a look.

Roy Masters is the NRL equivalent of the Wizard of Oz, saying 'Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain', and praying that he can convince everyone to ignore the GWS. I'm hoping they do purely to spite him.

Thats quite a list, and even though i have not read all of them , i would imagine his anti AFL articles go back a lot further than 2009.

I have seen Roy on tele many times and he trys to give the impression he knows something that no-one else does, but in reality he seems to know sweet FA.

If we add these articles to the many others written by RL journos, SMH's Stephen Samuelson etc, its a huge unrivalled base of hate and paranoia.

Because believe it or not there's actually a market for them in Sydney, most Sydney people think Australia starts at Albury and ends at the Qld border and the rest of the country is considered something else, but they just don't understand how the rest of the country doesn't follow and copy them in everything they do.

Go on LU and you'll see many anti Victorian sigs, probably more anti victorian sigs than anti AFL sigs TBH, the typical Sydney redneck hates Victoria and all things Victorian, it's quite scary TBH, this is all born out of insecurity of course.

They hate Aussie rules so much because they consider it a threat, if they didn't consider it a threat they would spend as much time talking about Soccer-Basketball, Roy helps them sleep that lil bit better at night lol, that's all.

Aint that the truth!

LU gives a fair insight as to how a very large number of people from Sydney esp view anything from Melbourne/Victoria.

Poor old Roy just feels threatened I think esp so because he lives in Melbourne and is swamped Auatralian Football/AFL everywhere he turns and to make it worse on measure of public support the Storm have been an abject failure.

Imagine if the Sydney Swans had won three premierships in the first 10 years of their existance what their support would have been?

If any LU member has happened by this thread, allow me to remind you that it is delusional to view the NRL and AFL as being equals in Australia - the AFL is bigger, stronger and wealthier by many multiples.

Agreed, you either highlight the lunacy, or you ignore it, i go through stages of doing both, but this is just getting to the really ridiculous stage, as pointed out, his last article was the lead story in SMH AFL section ..... but he is a RL journalist. :rolleyes:

FWIW a journalist in Sydney (SMH) that does some really good AFL stories is a guy by the name of Andrew Wu. :thumbsu:

I wish the mods would start banning the trolls instead of closing the threads, don't get me wrong i love a good debate about the code war but it seams admin doesn't (just like LU doesn't ), i honestly don't know why the other thread was closed, both partys were playing fair IMO, who are we hurting admin?

True, but there's no reason we have to scared like them, NRL posters are welcome on BF and AFL posters aren't on LU, we all know that, but i'd prefer the mods banned the known NRL trolls rather than close the threads.
