I don't care if it's a better theoretical idea to let JD and JC ruck, i don't want it to happen. We drafted Thurlow to ruck and he has already shown he is competent. Leave the god damn forward line alone ffs. Let them sort their shit out down there, this week being the first opportunity where we have Licka to bring the structure together.
The idea that we would play different forwards so that our current forwards can play ruck is ludicrous. We will end up smashed in the ruck and smashed in the forward line. Sounds awesome!

C'mon dude, fletch wasn't recruited as a ruck? He played CHF for Essendon Grammar if I'm not mistaken, but Sheeds pushed him into the ruck for his first game ironically against Carlton.

Easy, drop Daniher. The reality is that he's a 2nd year KPF who hasn't got the body to hold down the spot right now.

I think we had no choice but to run it this way.

Lets face it, thurlow aint gonna offer much, he will get dominated in the rucks, then give us little else.

We will get dominated in the ruck either way - but just quietly Carlisle has been motoring along very nicely when giving the roaming roll the past 2 weeks. In fact I feel his games have been grossly underrated by the general populous.

he has the ability to get on his back and provide options from deep defence right up - Warnock obviously cant go with him around the ground so Jake needs to work and work like in the 2nd half last week.

Its a punt, but I think its the only choice we realistically had.

In the meantime we play Carlisle and Daniher in the ruck.

Compared to other teams lack of options I think we are ok

I tend to agree with this. Would have been the perfect opportunity to bring him in this week, play him a half, if hes getting smashed then SUB him out and let Carlisle take over.....

Thurlow just isnt ready - he wasnt drafted to be used 2 weeks In Im pretty sure.

Its about more than just him though - perhaps if we played a Mummy or Sandi this week things would be different - but the writing has been on the wall for weeks and weeks if you listen to Bomber.

he does not rate rucks who dont do anything else - until Thurlow has the tank and experience to do more than just compete in ruck contests we will have to be on our bare bones for Bomber to use him. Carlisle and Daniher obviously fit Bomber's style more so than Thurlow, at this point in time.
