Our first hitout tonight. Expecting a very tough season coming up. Particularly if Kalyn doesn't hold up physically.

I must admit, at first glance it really didn't look that bad. His previous history has pushed that to a pretty sizable suspension.

I just thought the dropping motion was always going to hurt someone.

I reckon when you do a thug act like that your suspension should be equal to the time the injured party is out of the game.

FOX Footy have predicted Parramatta to win this seasons Premiership. That has all but ended our chances before the season has even started.:(

EELS TO WIN THE PREMIERSHIP
Ding, dong the witch is dead. The longest NRL premiership drought is set to end in 2022 with the Eels winning their first title since 1986, some 36 years ago.

On paper the Eels have had the least disruption to their squad from last season, even though they have a plethora of stars set to leave the club in 2023.

Reed Mahoney, Marata Niukore, Isaiah Papali’i and Oregon Kaufusi are headed for greener pastures in 2023, while Dylan Brown and Ryan Matterson are no certainties to stay long term.

However every one of these players is on the books for 2022 and so the stars are aligning for one last shot at breaking the premiership hoodoo before the old band breaks up.

Mitchell Moses and Brown are another year into their halves partnership and Clint Gutherson will be supported by Junior Paulo in the captaincy role, which should free him up to get back to his best at fullback.

The biggest issue the Eels have is their lack of wingers with Haze Dunster out for the year and Maika Sivo gone until mid-season, but if they can add Brisbane flyer Jamayne Isaako they should have enough depth to weather the storm until the flying Fijian returns.

No one wants to see another Storm or Roosters Grand Final win so let’s swing for the fences and get long-suffering Parramatta fans dancing in the streets come October.

And losing Haze Dunster is a disaster? He's barely first-grade class.

Surely they are just trying to spark up a bit of controversy, and is there anything really wrong with that? Shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Parramatta have looked very good against the Panthers in the first half, currently leading 18-0 and looking very strong offensively, even in the wet.

Parramatta may have found another young second rower, Makatoa has been excellent today.

36-0 to Parra with 8 to go.

Loved what I saw from Parramatta yesterday. It may only be a pre season game, but it looks like the guys will be playing a more expansive and attacking style of footy and the forwards given greater licence to promote the football. It also looks like we have improved our depth over the off season, we played the last 30 minutes will most of big names on bench and still managed to put Penrith under pressure and defend our defensive 22 with ease while scoring a few tries ourselves.

Top four should be the aim this season, but we will need to break even (at worst) with Penrith, Melbourne, Roosters and Rabbits who we all play twice this season.

I'm lowkey pleased with the Dragons pre-season. Likewise playing an expansive style on offense. More shall be revealed tho when weekly competition points are on the line.

I do think Souths will struggle more than most think. I only have them 6th - 8th.

I remember always saying that if we won the shield we never had a good season. So who knows?

And with that, a mighty cheer went up for the heroes of South Sydney. They had banished the shield, because it was haunted. Now lets all celebrate with a cool glass of Turnip juice
