Sorry! But I am genuinely curious.
yeh nah I decided to try and get a life mate. Most of us are bums or old farts with very little to do on a daily basis. If I don't start now, I'll just be another vinum coupe or JUBJUB wasting away. Besides, this game is no longer for me and my passion for the club and sport has signifcantly dimished. I wish the club success and all but it's not the same love I use to have for the game. Fabricated by getting in all these top up players from other clubs over the years. There's very little resolve shown, certainly not the same resolve our team of 2000 displayed where they had to do all the hard yards on their own. This 2016 squad would be nothing without Stanley, Smith, Henderson and Dangerfield. If they win the flag (which they won't if GWS is in), it's been down to those players who did it as Geelong would be sitting alongside North Melbourne otherwise. All the best to you Vic. Try and get a life yourself while your still young, fit and have hair.

Number of traded-in players we will likely use on Friday night: 6 (Dangerfield, Scott Selwood, Henderson, Caddy, Smith, Stanley)

Number of traded-in players who played on a regular basis back in 2000 (when the boys were doing apparently doing the "hard yards on their own"): 6 (Sanderson, Sholl, McGrath, Kilpatrick, Harley, Mooney)

Can't handle being wrong so now he hates everything. Lol. The game is so much better now. Watching old footy matches is like when you go to watch an old cartoon you remember being good as a kid and it's a heap of shit.

My take on the view he's making is that during those years players who formed the nucleus of premiership success did the hard yards, whether they were entirely alone imo is mere semantics, but they slowly gained experience and became good enough with a sprinkling of recruiting from other clubs. My question to Bobby_ would be would we have achieved that success without Ottens? A recruitment decision that could be argued to be similar to last years off season. Bringing in a player because we weren't good enough imo without him.

The crux of his point I think centres around this group showing not being good enough to achieve that success so they've essentially had blokes come in to as a collective get them up to that level.
Which is different to the build of our past flag success. Something I think we will (and many already have) to get used to now that Free Agency has changed the dynamics of how to build a successful list. If that's not to Bob's liking then that's his prerogative.

Hi Bobby,

As antagonistic as I have been to you, I have always enjoyed reading your posts. I can see that you genuinely care and it will make a significant difference for me and to the board to see you post less or stop altogether.

I am glad that you are finding enjoyment away from here. You are 100% right, sometimes we get emotionally sucked in by conversations on the internet and over things like sport that mean something in an intangible way - but ultimately should not affect us in our day to day lives.

I hope that you find balance and maybe in future that you are able to combine that with being part of the board again.
