Massive run home, and no gimmies. Even the derby will be tough (but if we're any sort of top team we should win)

Sydney (A)
Hawthorn (H)
Collingwood (A)
WCE (H)
Carlton (H)
Port Adelaide (A)
Brisbane (H)
Bulldogs (A)

We're on 10 wins and need at least 4 more to qualify. 8 games left in the season and we HAVE to win half at least.

I would tip us against WCE & Carlton. We then need to ensure we pinch at least 2 games against the rest of the challengers.

We should be a good chance against Sydney this week. Win against Sydney and Hawthorn and the train will be rolling at full steam.

Realistically, if we're any sort of team, we'll win at least 4 easily and earn our finals spot. I dont see any point in just fumbling into the finals. We need to beat these teams around us to worthy.

Destiny in our own hands.

We actually need 15 wins to be sure of making it, that's how frustrating this season is. Could easily miss on 14 wins and the team in tenth spot has 11 wins.
Can only afford to drop three games.

The game in a fortnight vs. Hawthorn is an early final. The last game of the season could effectively be an elimination final.

Predicting wins and losses is pointless. We're good enough at our best and it starts by beating Sydney this weekend. I'll see it as having four strikes, four strikes and you're out.

May this season be the reverse of the last.

Let's think of it this way, Switta, Young, Pearce and Simpson all make a significant difference to the game style we play. All back in the next 4-5 weeks.
  • Beat Sydney this week (huge chance).
  • Get Pearce (out OMac) and Walters (Soz Duds - need a huge pre-season) back and beat Hawks at home.
  • Get Switta (Out Banfield) back for some forward half pressure and Young (Out Worner or Chapman) shooting HBF missiles and go to the G and beat the Pies in a Sunday arvo game (Pies like to be prime time).
  • Belt Eagles and get Simpson to Peel to get confidence in the body.
  • Belt Carlton
  • Beat Port at AO for the first time ever.
  • Bring Simpson in (out Worner or Chap - whoever stayed in) and beat Brisbane the same way we did last year in Round 1.
  • Lose to the Doggies and finish 3rd.
  • Play Geelong in Geelong - we know what happens when we play finals there.
  • Beat the dogs in a home Prelim.
  • Finally master JL's game plan at the G in front of 100 thousand fans and take the cup home to officially start the decade of dominance.

we are certainly good enough to win every game to finish up the season. think it may come down to the last round tbh, tough run.

sydney - should have beaten them earlier this year and have had a few close encounters with them. serong and brayshaw key here, cant get bogged down once more. breakeven with their midfield and our bookends should get on top
hawthorn - took it right to them last season down in tassie missing a few off memory. tough one to pick, but give us the edge at home.
pies - another game we should have won last time round, think we match up against them well, big game at the G, sensing an upset as theyd probably have top 4 sewn up and the boys would see it as a great challenge
eagles - certainly looked a lot more competitve lately but still just dont have enough class, hopefully stunted their mindset against us last derby
blues - real flat footed team we shouold be able to take a hold of at the stoppage. only worry is if the umps pay curnow 100 frees as usual
power - back into some type of form but still, they have some crap players. serong and butters head 2 head to get the best out of him.
lions - done well against them the last couple games, home game should see us through.
dogs - did get up earlier in the year to my surprise but think we have a horror record against them at marvel
