The Run Home

9 - 4 to Round 13, a great achievement from 0 - 3 but its pointless if we dont go on with it from here, i thought we could have a look at who we have to face on the run home.

Round 14 - Brisbane @ The Gabba

The "home" match against the Lions, in all honesty we should be expected to win this one and it would be disappointing if we didnt, the Lions arent the same team they were a couple of years ago. Prediction - Win (10-4)

Round 15 - Richmond @ MCG

May be tough to back up what i expect will be a tough match at the Gabba but the Tigers have been patchy this year and this is another we should win if we want to be top 4. Prediction - Win (11-4)

Round 16 - Fremantle @ Subiaco

This will be a tough match, you never know what you're going to get with Freo, but at home they are always going to be a tough ask. A win here would really have us rolling along nicely but i just cant see it happening. Prediction - Loss (11-5)

Round 17 - Bulldogs @ MCG

The Bulldogs are overrated for mine but backing up from Subiaco may be tough, i think it will be close with the Doggies overrunning us late in the final term. Prediction - Loss (11-6)

Round 18 - Carlton @ Telstra Dome

I shudder just thinking about Round 1, and i doubt Danners will let them forget it in the lead up to this game, easy win. Prediction - Win (12-6)

Round 19 - Sydney @ MCG

Suprisingly the Swans seem to have the wood over us at home in recent years while we usually beat them at the SCG. I think with the pressure on though, the Dees will stand up. Prediction - Win (13-6)

Round 20 - Kangaroos @ MCG

We're 7-0 at the 'G this year so far, and i cant see the Kangas giving us too many problems. Prediction - Win (14-6)

Round 21 - Geelong @ Skilled Stadium

Great memories from Round 21 last year and hopefully it can spur us on to win against the Cats who will most likely be fighting for a place in the 8, should be close. Prediction - Loss (14-7)

Round 22 - Adelaide @ AAMI Stadium

No-one expects us to win this one, and it would take a monumental effort to get up. Prediction - Loss (14-8)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I have us finishing 14-8, not sure whether thats good enough for a top 4 spot but it should be there or thereabouts.

Most years it can get you top 4. I think we are capable of beating everyone except Adelaide @ AAMI, although we can't get ahead of ourselves and pencil in a week every week. In saying that though, I reckon we will beat Fremantle up there and finish the season 15-7.

As it stands right now i would be confident of winning every single one of those games except the Adelaide won where a good showing would be fantastic.

We have a very good draw.
Apart from the Adelaide game, they are all winnable.

The biggest challenge will be going to Perth, then facing the Doggies on a short break (play Sunday at Subi, face the dogs the following Saturday).
By the time we play Geelong, they will probably be out of finals contention, thus making the game a must win for us, and a "we don't care anymore" loss for them.

Sydney and Bulldogs game both being at the MCG gives us a huge advantage. How many games have the doggies played at the G'? When was the last time we faced Sydney on our home ground?

We need to win 2 of our 4 away games (Geelong included), and not drop more than one game at the G/TD. If that happens, we got top 4, possibly top 3. The key is to win big, because our percentage is pretty poor. No taking the foot of the pedal and letting teams get goals in rubbish time.

Must stay away from a final at AAMI, because then anything is possible!

Does it bother anyone else that we may drop the last two games then we may have to face the crows or eagles away... Not a good time for a loosing streak

One game behind WCE and ahead in percentage...who's saying we can't earn ourselves our own home final.

Round 22 would be the only remaining game, based on our current form, that I believe we will not have atleast a good chance of winning.

Spot on, we have a chance of top 2. The eagles have a bitch of a run home. Aim high kids. :thumbsu:

The Dees are definitely premiership contenders, but the games I would be worried about most if I'm a Dees supporter would be against Richmond and Freo. It's tough to play 2 jekyll and hyde sides 2 weeks in a row. Will they play the Richmond team that got flogged by Western and Sydney, or will they play the team that defeated the Crows and Magpies? Will they play the Freo team that defeated West Coast (when they were the best in the comp), or will they play the team that got flogged by the Lions?

It appears that my Hawks don't have a finals chance, so I'll be hoping for a Western vs. Melbourne GF. It would be awesome to see 2 teams that haven't won the premiership in a long time in that game. :)

With Dean Cox now out for 6 weeks, West Coast struggling for form and the fact that we are only 1 win away from them (our percentage is slightly above theirs) there is no reason we can't aim for a home final!

id love it if we could beat the crows, but we'l have to see how it pans out... adelaide are mighty good...

but everyone will underate us and tip the crows, and i dont blame em
but i think if we go in, knowing we can cause an upset, we could do it

id love it to happen that way!!

oooo how i would looooove me a dees vs. doggies GF!!! and cameron the bruce for the brownlow! hehehe...i think i'll get my head out of the clouds now!

go dees:thumbsu: :D :D

I think we'll beat either Freo or the Doggies.
But then again we know how we drop games we should win. Games we should NOT lose are:
Brisbane
Richmond
Carlton
Kangaroos

All the other games we could lose, but those are the ones we can't afford to drop.
I have us finishing 15-7. If we were to make top two we would have to beat Freo and the Dogs and win one of the last two.

If we are going to seriously challenge for the flag this year, we must avoid travelling to either AAMI Stadium or Subiaco during September. At the MCG, we are a chance against anyone, and even if we had to play Sydney in Sydney we could beat them, but I think there are two places we can't win so we must avoid them at all costs. Which means snatching 2nd spot from West Coast.

The coast's run home

Hawks (MCG) 75/25 few doubts with Cox missing Everitt could dominate

Sydney (Sub) 75/25 Should win but Sydney will push them

Collingwood (TD) 40/60 Pies will hopefully take them

Adelaide (Sub) 40/60 Adelaide are irresistable

Saints (TD) 40/60 Another loseable one!

Kangas (Sub) 95/5 WC to smash them :(

Brisbane (Gabba) 80/20 WC own this game every year

Freo (Sub) 60/40 Well its Freo.

So basically we can really at most afford to lose at worst 3 games from here hopefully less than that but for top 2 i think we can drop the Adelaide game then one out of the Doggies, Cats or Swans or Freo game.
