But the players were farked anyway - so they would have been better off in the big picture because it was drawn out so much. Also don't forget that the AFL & ASADA thought they were going to find things like CJC (body builder steroids) & stuff but found nothing of the sort - hence the AOD bullshit that followed for months.
You can't be that naive?

Fair point - would have been better for the players, far worse for the club.

they did find that stuff* but it was being injected into hird & goodwin - it may have been in the players too but there was no proof either way.

It was also proved to be used by dank at cronulla.

Destroying documents isn't a good look.
Be assured that everbody involved ASADA. Efc.Afl.aflpa.
And many others were overjoyed and grateful for the tipoff and accidental destruction of the records.
Many in the legal fraternity were hopeful that no records suddenly appeared and wont in the future.

That was some HELP...
Without that 'help' would the players be better or worse off do you think?

For my 2c; I think they should have stood back & let it run it's course no matter how good or bad it was going to be.
But we all know that the AFL don't work that way.
Club, not necessarily the players. The club is a premium brand withing the AFL.

The players are a renewable resource and were controlled as such. As evidenced by the joke-players-association.

There were always going to be more resources coming through to replace the damaged ones, just needed to keep the fallout from the current, damaged ones to a minimum and then let the club rebuild when the dust settled.

I still think that one or more of the past players (or officials) will be the catalyst for full exposure down the track - watch the ones that fell out of the jobs-for-boys-club.

Makes you wonder what Taylor's link to this could be.
What I find interesting is that this isn't new, only the bank-rolling is - and who is bank-rolling it.

" Taylor failed to get to court because of a lack of funds when he initially lodged papers against the AFL in September, 2015, but he has since provided security for costs.

"The ultimate end game is to have a trial and to allow the public to have clarification the ways in which the AFL mishandled the investigation, including the way it treated Hird, Corcoran and Thompson," Taylor said last year."
