Our actual emergency list mustn't be as represented.

I'd expect Riley is missing for Sturt because of injury, but it looks like Martin has replaced Lynch as non-playing emergency. Still with both he and Kerridge sitting out, a late change is plausible.

A news report during the week said Martin had a slight hammy, is he on the emergency list though? Maybe not as bad as they thought.

Oh fair enough that explains it, I got a bit confused as emergency list was Callinan, Kerridge, Lynch and couldn't understand why Riley and Martin also missed.

No Angus Graham for Sturt? Couldn't be dropped from the league side this early right?

Riiiiighhhhtttt?

Injured I reckon.

He had a corked bottom round 1 against WWT and played round 2, I feel it got worse and he just had the week off.

He wasn't dropped as his ruckwork was very good.

im still amazed beech didn't get drafted last season. 16 touches, 14 marks and 4 goals 2. such an assured set shot.

I agree with you and posted the same statement last year however I've also mentioned Caire and Fielke.
Keough may soon be joining this list but it's a little too early to call.
I know I'm one eyed but the list keeps growing for all of these players are just competitors and are worthy to be considered.
Of course Norwood destroyed us last year in the final and they would have just as many players who could step up to the next level. Hardest issue in the AFL is to get on a list. Really need a recruiter to see something exceptional in your game once you're considered a 'mature' player. There are little gems out there.

Good news

However I sense that for LJ to get a game either Tex or JJ need to get injured or Sando needs to change his thoughts on our forward structure
I am still at a loss as towhy Sando doesn't go with LJ as the leading forward, JJ as the tall marking forward, both deep forward, with Tex roaming as our CHF. Give LJ licence to lead up as well with his leg and swap with Tex. if we gave LJ a few weeks to settle I could see this working and allows for Tex to be up the ground where he excels with his kicking.

Have stiffy, pup and a midfielder up there with those three

norwood are going to beat a fair few teams by 80 points

sturt and south will be the main contenders. depends on south's away form, they cannot win at arctic park.

and graham was injured for sturt. it was confirmed by the sturt twitter either yesterday or the day before.

Totally agree with your thoughts

Johnston should definitely get a chance at AFL level soon, he's earned it. I see no reason why Walker, Jenkins and Johnston can't work in the same forward line. Johnston is a good mark and an excellent kick, could take a bit of pressure off Walker (less double teaming) if he's given a chance.

Oh and other thoughts on today's game:

McIntyre was dangerous as usual. Kicked 4 and really should've had 5 (missed a simple set shot) but I would really love to see him get a little more of the ball. I know it's tough for a forward pocket though.

Tambling was... eh. Not terrible, but no where near demanding selection.

Grigg 11 possessions 1 goal early in the first. I reckon he is going to come from the clouds and be a bolter this season. I was critical of Bass for keeping him in the reserves but it seems like more Bass magic making him earn it and want it. Love the Bass.

Greg has 17 and 1 goal up to half time

McIntyre always seems to kick 4 from 10 possies.

Agree McIntyre needs to push up with some minutes on the ball or he will risk not showing enough versatility to play at AFL level

Re Bling, Sando applauded Bling's pre-season however with Brown in good form, Smith coming back and both Grigg and Kerridge able to okay across HB it's difficult to see Bling breaking in anytime soon

Question to someone who has actually seen Grigg play - is he any good anywhere other than as an inside mid?
