his kicking 5 goals is timily, but surely he doesn't get picked on 1 good in game in 2 months?
5 goals might help him build a case for replacing Walker, ahead of LJ. However, we're talking about replacing Jacobs - an optional change - with a player who is barely a backup ruckman at best and is certainly not capable of leading the ruck at AFL standard.

so do we expect that again next week?

or back to normal services?
That would be the question, wouldn't it. One good game does not equal consistency.

McKernan's trademark is a game with all the consistency of week old porridge.

Just a thought, but do Sturt actually have a KPP defender worthy of the title? I note that both McKernan and LJ have one decent result on their CV this year (and only one) - McKernan kicked 5 against Sturt and LJ kicked 7 against them. Neither have really troubled the scorers against any other team, so this cannot be an anomaly. Should we therefore discount games played vs Sturt when deciding upon Walker's replacement.. regarding the entire competition as a nil-all draw?

To be fair, take that performance for what it is. Since leaving South he has shown improvement ( not hard I know) in each game and tonight was a performance that you would like to think be standard if he ever harbors dreams of playing AFL this season.

I don't think he'll get a call up this week as he needs to build some confidence, which I hope he got some of tonight

in Round 1 Ainger kicked 4
in Round 2 Johncock kicked 7 and more relevant Butcher kicked 5
in Round 3 Johnston kicked 7
in Round 4 Wundke kicked 5

and now Smack has 5

good observation Lord Vader.

should be noted mckernan kicked 3 of his 5 when the game was pretty much over.

That's pissweak man.

I can understand that Mckernan divides supporters but when his last three goals came when his side was challenged by a side who had kicked the last 4 goals to get within 2 kicks and Smack kicks 3 goals in 5 minutes, it is disgenuous to call it like you have.

Salient.

Ok

Last years form it is.

Lewis, come on down.

Oh, please.

When McKernan has been charged with solely being a ruck man, his numbers have been good. Obviously he's been a key forward here.

I would be fine with resting Jacobs for a week and running McK and Jenkins in tandem against Hawthorn's mediocre ruck unit.

LJ kicked 7 against the same defence... just saying.

In the dry, with calm conditons :)

I'm not saying this is the rebirth of Smack but it is by far the best performance he has put up in a long time and to be fair he did some very unSmack like things. I'd love to see him put those type of figures up for the next month though

Better point.

Smack and Jenkins 50/50 ruck forward.

Lets us get Lewis in there as well. Oh and Lyons. Get him in for.... anyone of Wright, Reilly, Dmac, Petrenko, Henderson.
