Seriously you don't really want to look at the crows stats this weekend as any type of benchmark, outside Laird, Rutten and Otten they all slaughtered it.

I have no idea how Crouch performed for Westies, having not seen him for myself. However, if I read from someone who was there that he had little influence on the game, then I'll take that over a bunch of statistics any day of the week.

The only problem being, you'd have to trust the opinions of some of the posters here...;)

True to a point.. I have some posters whose opinion I value more highly than others.

There's also weight of numbers. If several people at the game all say the same thing, then I'm reasonably inclined to believe them, over a sole voice stating the opposite.

Most SANFL observers seem to be fairly knowledgeable people. The very fact that they attend SANFL games regularly proves their dedication to the sport. Most of them seem to post objectively about SANFL performances, whereas posting about AFL performances is frequently blinkered.

I wish I could be there to see them for myself (though I'd probably only see Norwood players regularly if I lived in Adelaide), but that's just not possible for me.

Stats alone do not tell the whole story - something which I am constantly reminded of by many members of this board (and not without good reason). Symes gets plenty of the ball and won the Magarey Medal last year, after being delisted by the Crows because he wasn't good enough for AFL footy.

Cue "Vader is less of a supporter because he doesn't go to games" posts.

Crouch was good without being great.
Should he come in next week. Ehh maybe. Depends on how many changes they want to make.

I'd have Wright ahead of him for that role.
Smack a certain starter and potentially Henderson to come in as well.

For mine hes the 4th one in line going by his last couple of SANFL performances. At SANFL Level playing next to James Ezard Chris Schmidt and Ryan Ferguson every week certainly isnt the worst thing for him. Its not like hes at South Adelaide. (No offence to Panther fans)

Webb had 30 hitouts and normally palms it fairly well so that sounds like a stupid comment even for one that says he is a Westies supporter.

neither are specialist ruckmen though. i thought webb was outstanding but he was obviously buggered by the last quarter where he just got outbodied.

my mistake for actually watching the game.

do you get the SANFL game of the week on channel 2 to record?

I'd rather look at AFL form. Crouch was very good when he was playing, whereas Wright has stunk it up for nearly the whole season. I have a lot more faith in Crouch coming in and performing than Wright.

Yeah.. at 2am or something in the middle of the week. I only bother recording the Norwood games - of which there's only been one so far this season, and that was a loss to North. I haven't deleted it yet.. nor have I bothered to watch it.

I just watch it on iView, much easier.

Sounds like theirs heaps of enthusiasm there ;)

Does anyone know how Orval went for Centrals' magoos? First game in a fair while and perhaps all year... Someone on twitter said he kicked 7, but I'm not sure if that was a joke.

Edit: just answered my own question. 9 touches, 2 goals.

Fortunately my friend retains a little more objectivity by not being a Crows fan desperate for Crouch to succeed.
You are aware that the West Adelaide coaches named Brad Crouch in their best players.

Obviously your secret source ;) did not get a vote.

Bring back Brad,

Crows continue reserves push

By Harry ThringExclusive to afc.com.au 4:39pm AEST Wednesday, June 5, 2013

While Sanderson said he wanted his non-selected players challenged in the "strongest competition available" getting the team up and running was the focus.

"Ultimately we want our own team first of all and then which level they play at and which grade they play in is [second]," he said.

"That's the debate; where are our players going to learn the most and develop the most? But primarily it's 'get our own team first'.

"We want to play in the strongest competition available for us…s

Anyone sense some contradictions here?
