Riley 28 touches and 11 clearances, Lyon 27 touches

both must come in to the side

Great win by the doggies over NA :)

Good stats by Dowdell too for a first game in a Dogs jumper.

Just a slight concern with Riley and Lyons is that they seem to have the crow tendency to over handball but they must come in.

If Lyons and Riley don't come in next game, they may as well ask the club to delist them as he won't ever get picked again.

They still have next week to stake their case too. If Lyons doesn't come in as a minimum our selection panel is a joke

Has the club released why Brent Reilly isn't playing for Sturt today?

So, he was rested and rested next week, so one would assume he wasn't dropped or did he just refuse to play for Sturt.

Adelaide Crows @Adelaide_FC
@scotte23 Because he needs an opportunity to have a physical/mental break like the rest of the players & won't get it next weekend

Why?

I can understand Kerridge as he's still young and at this stage of the season would have a very sore body but Reilly is a seasoned player. If his form wasn't shit, he would have played yesterday.
The AFL team is due for a bye next week. Reilly has played every game prior to yesterday. He's entitled to have a week off - just like all the other players in the AFL team. What difference does it make whether he has this week off or next week? By selecting him next week he should be good to go the following week against Gold Coast.

Riley may well get his wish. Good (very good) SANFL player. Lacks the weapons required to survive at the higher level.

Lyons should play against GC.

Dowdell was outstanding in his Centrals debut today. A pile of hit outs, 1.1 (and shepherded another through). If he doesn't make it for the Crows, and he stays at Centrals, and he keeps playing like he did today the Guilhaus/Dowdell ruck combo is going to be one of the best in the SANFL.

Did you see him play live? Being a doggies supporter I would love to know. Doubt he'll get a call up for the Crows this year so he'll be playing for us all year :D

Sure did. I had him in our best players today.

Not sure if he can be called up for the Crows this year (not sure how the special rookie system we got him under works in terms of when we can play him), but he will develop nicely at Centrals.

Was well gone before we had a pick I think.

We could still entice him home. Freo are certainly not short of rucks.

If we kept pick 40 we could have got Jack & he missed out getting drafted he was a 1st round pick in the RD

Shaw kicked 5 in the ressies for Glenelg.

Anyone know how Orval and Siggins went?
So Shaw playing as a forwrd ? .......and they said it couldn't happen :D

Rubbish! Vader .......they said the same things about Sam Mitchell, Sewell, Brock Mclean, Tuck ect

Agreed not naturally talented ......but willpower and determination often surpasses talent (Sloane):thumbsu:

No Angus Graham for Sturt today

Surely he's sick or something and didn't play ressies...
No Graham for Sturt... they win and Angus Kurtze has 40 hit outs, 24 possessions, 5 marks and a goal. BOG.

I reckon we could have chosen 25-30 other ruckmen from state leagues who would have been better options.

Bloody hell, Webster (that 1990's Gary Coleman wannabe) could be a superior job in the ruck.
