Griggs had these stats all year, has come on really well this year and should be next in line.

Hartigan in and Talia to CHF. The year is shot, time to look at options.

I'd rather see Hartigan to play as a third tall forward and Otten move up forward, but yes, I'd like us to look at options too.

I think its time to see how both of these 2 fair at AFL level, from what I understand Hartigan has been playing his shut down roles extremely well all year and against Gold Coast we have a chance to blood him against a side lacking any decent tall forwards. At the very least I think we should be getting Grigg 2 games, if not more in the seniors this year. He's probably another preseason away from being absolutely ready for AFL, but at least giving these guys a taste of the action allows them to realise what they're aiming for.

8.12 to 1.4 at half time

tuck's problem is his lack of pace. very strong at sanfl level, but not totally sure how it would transfer into afl. he has been fantastic though recently, 18 touches to half time once again, with 5 clearances. shitty i can't be there today, thank you exams.

I think he'd be a decent player, but really isn't what we're in need of, our list is already clogged up with enough slow, clearance winners.

Jolly's the one that interests me, extremely highly rated as a junior but struggled up on the Gold Coast, seems to be relishing playing off half back at Glenelg and is one I think we could bring in and quite easily find a spot for in our back 6, especially if we're keen on moving Smith to the midfield.

Lyons in, Crouch maybe. So on a weekend where theres a few spots up for grabs only Grigg and Lyns stand up unless we upgrade Hartigan

Full Time:

Crouch 18d (9k, 9hb) 2tk, 5Cl 1.1
Lyons 22d (15k, 7hb) 5tk, 6Cl 1.1
Shaw 10d (9k, 1hb) 1tk

Hmmm...veeery quiet game for Lyons. Looks like his SANFL form is dropping off so absolutely no reason for him to be pushing for selection.

Yep Reilly, Johncock and Tambling in, although Bling had a good game...... maybe Graham instead.

Lyons 22d (15k, 7hb) 5tk, 6Cl 1.1
Shaw 10d (9k, 1hb) 1tk

A good 10 disposals at that though. Kicked the ball pretty well; his best a long 50m ball inside 50 to Lyons resulting in a goal.

Gee Glenelg were terrible though. You thought Melbourne had poor skills....

Shaw is obviously a favourite of Sando, how long will it be before he pulls the trigger on him. Team Thursday SHOULD be interesting.

I don't think Crouch will come in. Those stats aren't great and I reckon they will want him to be in hot form before eh bring him back after Sydney. Grigg most probably has earnt a spot ahead of him.

Lyons and Crouch both in, Shaw eased in as sub.

Yes, it's probably too early for Shaw ideally but our form has been that bad that desperate times call for desperate measures.

Solid game by Lyons given his fatigue issues.

I'd give Shaw a little bit longer (and everyone knows I'm a huge fan) but it's time to release the mini beast. Playing Grigg may however unbalance our team that doesn't know what a left footer looks like.

Grigg and Lyons for sure and throw a blanket over the rest. All the rest were slightly underwhelming for mine. Last year just about every player in the SANFL was in peak form, this year its those 2 and then some sporadic performances from the rest.

fiddled around a little with some mock designs, SANFL-ing the Crows guernsey to see what it might look like next year...

Why bother with the home jumper, given that the club has said that they're happy for the team to play all of it's games as the away side? They'll never need a "home" jumper.

Anyone who went to the game able to comment on Jolly? His stats show a whopping 9 rebound 50s. He's young, naturally athletic, so would have a lot of 'upside'.

I hope we are 'tracking' him.

Listening to 5rph, what's the deal with Travis Tuck? He's 25, would we want to rookie him / pick him up?
He played 3 seasons at Hawthorn, for just 21 games. He was then thrown out of the AFL after copping a 3rd drug positive. Whether he's changed that aspect of his life - and how much it affected him during his AFL career - is anybody's guess.

The question we need to be asking is this - is he, right now, any better than the midfielders in our current AFL team? If not, then there's no point in drafting him, because at 25 there is no scope left for further improvement.

Hartigan seems to get a bit of Footy. Not as much of a pure shutdown guy as i first assumed.
