I think it's pretty safe to say there is no longer any correlation between his SANFL form and his AFL selection
which begs the question, if all our decision making on selection is based on training form only, why do we even bother playing our guys in the SANFL at all? Forget a Crows SANFL team, just have a competitive hitout on the training track on the weekend and be done with it.

Both leading possession winners for their team. The thing is they both offer something our side lacks. Ones very good clearance player and one has a great left boot. Both aren't quick though which sucks. Why do we always recruit slow players?

Surprising draft choices. There are usually a boat load of super quick super skilled ball magnets in the bottom half of the draft.

Grigg out done by suckling

so needs to work on that next week at the SANFL.

in terms of speed, it is great to have some players who are quick, but it isn't mandatory for every player especially players with footy smarts.

I'm just trying to think, when Walker was dominating the SANFL, people were still focused on the negatives

so clearly we haven't seen enough of Grigg to be able to identify his weaknesses,we already know that Lyons is slow....
Its a worry if we were to believe what Harper says .
He is a lot faster than lot of current team and a lot more talented.

I guess you can get some peace of mind in the fact that both Tambling and Symes dominated SANFL

(neither were 20 or 21 but still, it is a good argument to make)
i dont remember tambling dominating sanfl. i remember symes winning a magarey, even then i dont remember him dominating as such!

Fair call, but we do have a lot of one paced players and they are suffering because of it.

But we've also had choices with our draft selections. I like Kerridge but our side badly needs a Bradley Hill type who was drafted after Kerridge.

no that was only craigy. anyone who watched him on gameday regularly could tell he was something special. i still crack out his elimination final youtube video every now and then.

ive seen plenty of grigg over the last few years. his improvement this year has been ridiculous. at present his only weakness is not being the quickest player, but that has been said of him forever. i cant recall what his right boot is like either. but he's positioning well, getting clearances, lots of ball inside and outside and kicking goals. how jaensch is getting a game before him on current form, i do not know.

That's it. Just have a scratchy on Max Basheer oval with the guys that don't make the team on a Saturday.
Then they would not have all those bad influences at their sanfl clubs :D

Players can seem quicker then they are with footy smarts. Think the Jarmans
Lyons and Grigg both have bucket loads of that.

When do the bring back Mikan calls start?
