Apparently was sick last week.

And a team mate gave him a playful noogie at training today. He'll be out for 6 months and was clinically dead at one stage

Johnston 29D 8M 2T 6Cl 17Ho 3.1

damn! not even full time yet :)
The stats of someone who knows the clock is ticking and wants to play.

At Glenelg v North, Sam Shaw not playing, Johnston being played in defense

With those stats he must have been the loose man in defence.
Three goals, leading hitouts for North (but the other ruck man was Craig ).
It sounds like he quarterbacked the game.

Anyone see it and able to report?

A man who knows his window will be open for precisely 1 more week, before Smack comes back and his window slams shut again.

Why do you need to write such rubbish? What if he has a big game, do you think he will be dropped? Besides our forward line is ****ed, you don't think they will give him a run of consecutive games to try and improve it?

Just got home from the bay. LOL Glenelg! :D

Johnston was everywhere today. Craig went down early so LJ did a majority of the rucking for the rest of the game, rotating with our two other sort of KPFs (Langford and Gordon). They seemed to be working out the rotations themselves rather than Franou having set times for them which is why LJ was often seen a kick behind play, as Langford or Gordon would often come up from the forward line to take the next ruck contest and give LJ a breather.

So he was kind of part KPF, part ruckman and part quarterback. His excellent ball use and footy smarts made him very good at the quarterbacking role. Oh and if anyone was wondering - no he couldn't ruck in the AFL even a little bit. :p

His goals were a pleasure to watch too, his leg is a massive weapon.

He did pull up a little "hobbley" and sore a couple of times later in the game (his knee is taped) but definitely no "real" injuries or anything to worry about.

I'm not expecting him to get picked next week but he should definitely come in for a stretch of games as a key forward.

boffo

Ok, what's your definition of clock ticking?

17 hitouts as well? Where the hell is he playing???

I really hope we give him some gametime by the end of the year.

Exactly why? ......maybe we should-draft Symes based on his SANFL form?

All the people advocating his selection.....my guess is very few have seen him play except the odd TV game

petrenko got knocked out in the first quarter in a big hit. stayed down for a while, stretcher was brought out and everything, was helped off the ground though but was very out of it and obviously didn't play for the rest of the game.
