2010, 2011 were shit with Craig

2013 with Sando = shit

3 out of 4 have been crap.

BTW - WW are you employed by the Club and find any excuse and blame everyone else to look past our poor form?

What defender dud we lose from 2012? Talia, Rutten.

Just so wrong......we lost Walker & Tippett
Walker tipped PS to b e as good as Franklin
Tippett has just kicked his 5th against Collingwood in the 3rd qtr ......but no, we're not missing him and it's Sando's fault

We've introduced 4-5 really exciting NEW players :thumbsu:

We've been competitive in majority of games and could have won another 3-4 games :thumbsu:

Been a shit year ......no way

You keep believing that's all it is. Ok.

We will not be a top 4 side next year with this team and Tex.

And get what?

A packet of Toobs? :(
Trade him for a second round pick that we can use on Gorringe. Kerridge has some currency. Teams look at a guy who kicks 6 goals from a forward midfield position as well as a couple of other decent games, good SANFL form and they think they can get something good out of him. I just think I prefer Grigg, Lyons, Crouch to him. Might as well trade him out now when he is young and shown glimpses than keep him on the list till he falls in a hole and we cant give him away.

Kerridge is likley to be our best tagger in 2014.

Talk of swapping him is laughable.

I agree

With the youth we have blooded this year we are building towards being a real contender (top four side) in 2015/2016 at the earliest. We are the fourth youngest squad in the league. Our side last week was younger and less experienced than Port's.

Need some patience. If you can't see that we have a good group of 18+ under 25 year olds you will never be happy.

Sando said we would spike last year, and looking at our age/experience profile and some hindsight you can see why he said that. I personally think that once Tex went down this season has become a rebuld year, and some of the weird selections suggest that. Rotate as many kids through as we can to play with the senior guys while we still have them.

Either that or Sando and our selectors were just using a spinning dartboard on selection night.

I could swear alex_is_on_fire is demanding we keep Kerridge in the offseason trade thread.......

I am. Your point?

Heck youre a negative nancy

We won't be, but as soon as we weed out the dead wood and allow the young good players to gain experience, we will quickly move up the ladder.

We have too many players just coasting now with their career and don't feel the need to improve.

You only gain experience by doing it.

Playing lower level football won't get someone better. We can continue to use the perception we gave a young side but as long as their selection is like a yo yo, they won't improve.

People on the board love the play the 'Melbourne' kids card by suggesting we will get smashed every week, however if we continue to follow the trends we are implementing, we will be more like Richmond and finish mid table without going anywhere.

They also have to earn their spots in the team. Gifting players to gain minutes is not always good experience. They can learn bad habits just trying to survive in the game, rather than thrive when they are playing good footy.

Watching Lyons last week I can see why he was dropped. I am perplexed by Kerridge not playing this week however.

Looking at SANFL reports there is no young player that stands out to me demanding a spot in our team other than Kerridge.

The good sign is that all of Laird/Crouch/Kerridge/Grigg/Johnston/Lyons/Brown have shown they can be quite good AFL level footballer. None have been duds when given their chance.

I would guess the last time we played so many young players in one year who have shown they can play at the level would be around the 95/96 era

You could take any team and say "I hear there's a young player who might be interested in a move to a new team" and be right nearly every time. It's a fairly empty statement with little to no risk in saying it.

Actually, you'd never be wrong. Theres always reasons you can offer up as to why a player didn't end up leaving. Yeh, there was definately one on the way out but they just couldn't get a deal done. Pretty sure ive heard that before.

Rubbish argument...... 1 year with Craig, 1 year with Sando (prelim final) ....and a year where we lost basically our whole forward line & our best defender from 2012
That's a non argument!

As for team changes ......those highlighted are in at least their 2nd season .....we have the same playing team

The team is:
B: Luke Brown, Ben Rutten, Andy Otten
HB: Rory Laird, Daniel Talia, Brodie Smith
C: Patrick Dangerfield, David Mackay, Nathan van Berlo
HF: Bernie Vince, Lewis Johnston, Jared Petrenko
F: Mitch Grigg, Tom Lynch, Richard No, there's virtually no chance of him being dropped this week, or any time soon. There's nobody to replace him and he's not going to be dropped after 1 bad game.
RUCKS: Sam Jacobs, Brad Crouch, Scott Thompson
INTERCHANGE FROM: Rory Sloane, Matthew Wright, Sam Shaw, Ricky Henderson

I'll argue that's a pretty good list........have my doubts on Otten, and yes there are others whose form needs to improve ....but they're sitll playing better than those 2 you seem to have blind faith in[/quote]

What team is that? Why is David McKay in the centre?
